Potential Toyota Supra hack? $3500 rebate for Memorial Day

Even without a pandemic, those are lofty expectations for selling. Lease indeed wins, by a long-shot!

I disagree. It’s a low production car with a large lower income following. They are also making excellent numbers with simple bolt ons in the aftermarket. They will end up holding a steady value in the 40s or upper 30s. Buy use case will only improve over time.

Don’t care that it’s a supra, not worth over $600+ in lease payments especially in today’s market.

It’s basically a z4 chassis, copy pasted with a Z4 M40i engine. It’s not a better value lease wise I’ll agree, but aesthetically and name plate wise, I’d prefer the Supra. M2s lease for more than 600/month and Z4s around 530, so if I was richer and looking for this kind of car, it’s not a bad proposition, especially if you want the name prestige of Supra.

I was about to post the exact opposite. I think, if one were a brand snob, the Z4 would have more cachet than the Supra. Probably in the general population, 99.9% of the people looking at the two cars side-by-side would think the BMW was nicer and more expensive. personally, I would agree with them about the nicer part, and objectively they would be correct about the expensive part, at least as the MSRP goes.

I honestly prefer the Supra any day of the week, and there is a niche for it, else Toyota wouldn’t have made it. However, I am a JDM sucker…

Looking at those two photos @HersheySweet , I can see your point about the supra…It does have a more aggressive and racier look.

The snobby ā€œwhat do others thinkā€ viewpoint (which let’s be honest, is what causes most people to spend more than they need to for a car, LOL) is that if both of those pulled up in front of Bushwood country club, which one would have Judge Smails or Ty Webb in it? HAHAHAHAAšŸ˜‚

I don’t think the first z4 Pic shown gives it justice. I have had a lot of supras in my life and even considered getting the new one but I don’t think it’s that attractive tbh. The new z4 is a more mature version of that car and has so much better technology and arguably service from the manufacturer?

Also the top goes down

But back on topic… With 50 extra horsepower and wireless carplay 2021 is such a better sell then the 2020.

The BMW also comes with free loaners, some dealers come to your home/work, and there’s free maintenance. That’s a true luxury car from a service standpoint.

And that is why judge smails and ty webb would choose it!

Dang, after seeing that Z4 in blue in the photos above, I’m searching the board for deals, LOL

Yeah, I’m waiting for the 2021 orders to open up so I can grab one that looks JUST like that… With the steering wheel on the left side of course.

I happen to very much enjoy my convertible Supra…

I think the supra is the more interesting of the two designs, but I don’t know that it’s going to age well

Definitely agree with you on that one. It is aggressive, but design language changes all the time, so who knows. If you told someone in the 80’s that cars will look the opposite the way they did then in just 20 years, they would’ve called you crazy, and gone back to drawing a bajillion foot hood on an Eldorado.

There are some cars that age like wine and some that age like bread.
