Possible? Seeking advice on sub $150 / month with Android Auto

This place rocks. Wish I had found it a few weeks ago because I probably would have jumped on that Chevy $3000.

Currently
Leasing a 2014 Honda Civic (due back this month).

Desired

  • Android Auto
  • Under $150 per month
  • Preferably a 24-month lease since I’m not sure where I’ll be in 18 months
  • Can do 10k miles / month if that helps total cost
  • Like Honda but not required

Question
Can any lease be swapped / sold? Or only some brands?

Research Thus Far
Test drove a 2017 Civic EX-T at a local dealership, really liked the changes they made from my 2014 to the 2017.

Talked to a dozen dealers in TX, MA, and VA over the past few weeks, all via email. Seemed like $8000 was the best Texas could do.

Saw $6500 in MA: http://www.weymouthhonda.com/lease/?&code=2016FC1F3GJW&leasetype=3&lterm=24

Had a guy in VA tell me he could do $5490, but not sure I trust a salesman who can’t spell and doesn’t use complete sentences via email across the country.

I have friends and family in various places around the country, so flying somewhere and road-tripping back is not out of the question. Although I certainly don’t want to pay tax twice…

What should I do next?
I’m feeling like I should wait and see what the April incentives are… but not expecting much since everyone’s fiscal years end in either Dec or Mar.

The 2016 Civic is the same as the 2017 from what I can tell… so should I be scouring the land for a 2016 EX-T to lease? Will that even save me much?

Happy to look at other brands to get a good deal!

kind of in the same boat. except dont need the android auto and slightly tighter budget. so far chevy deals with 1500 rebate are leading (apple integration i believe)…will keep an eye out for deals for you

The website you linked to has a special on the 2016 Civic Coupe for $149/month with zero down. Does that work for you?

the chevy cruze does have android auto…may want to look into these as it should be below 150/month

Have you used Android auto extensively? I have and I no longer use it. It is a great idea but it limits what you can do far too much. You phone becomes dead and all you have e access to in your screen is music (which any car can play now), your phone, again which any car can do and Google maps, which is nice but Waze is better and that is not compatible with android auto.

You get no messages to read, no emails and if you happen to use other messaging apps they probably won’t work with the voice commands. (Fb messenger and WhatsApp do work though)

Half the time I would unplug my phone just to read a message or check to see if an email has come in.

Don’t limit your car choice based on it having android auto. It is not worth it.

@Ed_Churchward Good call-outs. I’ve only tried it out for a few minutes at the dealership.

I did see that Waze is being added to Android Auto

At least in Los Angeles, Waze is the app that makes you star in a video game where you have to try not to get killed while making a left turn!

Sure, I know it is coming but just having waze would not be enough for me. I would still want access to other things such as messages, emails, foursquare etc etc
