Porshe macan ev protection

Looking for some quick input

Dealer bundled tire & wheel protection + 20k maintenance for $2,200 total on a 24-month Macan 4S EV lease with 22” wheels spyder wheels

Dealer claims maintenance alone is $1,400, making the effective tire & wheel cost roughly $800.

Normally I decline F&I products, but given the large wheels and Northeast roads, this one gave me pause.

For those with Porsche / large wheel leases:

• Is $800 effective for tire & wheel good?

• Any real value to prepaid maintenance on a short EV lease?

• Would you keep it or cancel after funding?

Oil changes on a EV is expensive

The second required service on my e-tron GT was ~$1000.

I would advise validating costs in advance when making a prepayment decision on maintenance.

There is a service due at 20k miles. Which costs 1400

What maintenance is required on an EV? Can’t think of anything on an ICE car non engine related that isn’t a simple DIY.

I believe brake fluid change is needed.

So does someone know if tire and wheel protection is worth it

What specifically does the protection cover? What has been your prior experience with tire/wheel damage?

It looks like the tires cost well over $400 each, so if there are not a lot of restrictions on the coverage, it may be a good deal.

Thanks, unless it requires special tools from the mfg, a local shop can do it and save you over a grand

Dealer basically said these are $2k per wheel and I should protect them specifically in ny. I am gonna look for other options $2200 is a bit much just for wheels. Even tho he said he is throwing in the 20k miles service in with that price which is around 1400. I have 60 days to cancel so I’ll look around

While I agree that 22” wheels in NY are prone to damage, the coverage often times has a lot of exclusions. Furthermore, if you bend or crack a rim, you can often find a local tire/wheel shop that can either reshape or weld the crack back for much less than a replacement would cost.

You didn’t have to use an Audi dealer for that.

Anyone know about fidelity warranty. Read good things about them but can’t find a contact to inquire.

He showed me a sheet with all porshes listed with the price looked legit also people who have the car said its a real thing

The $1400 maintenance is a racket on EVs. Mercedes dealer tried to charge me that at the 20K/2 Year service for my EQS. You can probably have it done for much less at an independent shop.

And yet I did, because I didn’t know it was $1k until I dropped it off for the appointment.

Before I got the car another dealer quoted $500ish, which led me to cancel Audi Care soon after the lease funded.

I didn’t do this carefully enough.

otoh my CPO BMW the dealer was quite a bit less than my indie for routine maintenance.

Read the small words at the print…my 2 yrs Audicare does not cover my 2yrs lease cuz the demo had 6k miles and the 1st service was done by the selling dealership before I got the car :face_with_monocle:

Any idea if I choose not to do the 20k maintenance will I get penalized on lease return

Anyone can make a sheet. And people who are not car people unfortunately fall for this all the time.
