Porsche Experience Los Angeles

I just gone done driving a Cayman at the Porsche Experience Center in LA. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

One can choose from base 718 (like I did) on up to 911 Turbos and GT3 RS. The price goes up commensurately, of course.

You get a driving coach for 90 minutes, and 7 different areas to play, including a 1.3 mile road course. You get to do multiple launch-control runs (up to about 110 mph), drift on a track, drift on a wet skid pad. The fun was huge.

I got to hot lap the road course till the brakes began to fade a little, about 12 or so laps (I didn’t count but somewhere around there).

All the staff were great. If you would like to drive a Porsche in anger, it’s totally worth the price. They don’t make you baby the cars, you get to really push as hard as you and the coach are comfortable. And of course he did a hot lap or two to keep me humble.

Those must feel awfully big for that road course! Not much room to get them breathing hard.

yeah it was a pretty tight course. The hammer was great with the turbo s.

Sounds like a fun event! I’m still hoping to try the race track Porsche experience in Carlsbad, the one with the fancy restaurant up top.

@Alex Can you please post a link to the Porsche experience in Carlsbad, or any other info on it? I can’t seem to find it on google.

They let you try! It’s not so easy but they coach you thru it. Link to Motorweek video of the Atlanta site. It’s pretty much identical to the LA one.

@Alex
I think you may be thinking of the LA one. It’s in Carson, but right next to LAX.

We went to the restaurant afterwards. Very good but a little pricey. (Let’s just say make sure you ask how much that special steak is!)

No need to pay for a Porsche test drive. Just rent a Sonata or a Focus. Keep that hammer down as you skid around the parking lot. And you’re not limited to some modest test-track. You can do the same thing on a new car test drive.

With the money you save you could then lease an Encore!

Haha!

I wanted to drive something MORE capable than my car, not less!

Don’t really care about saving money on this venture—life’s about experiences.

:sunglasses:

Was this post mean to be facetious? I can’t tell, haha.

How much is it? For the whole experience?

The Cayman base was $385

Turbo or GT3 is $1k

The models in between are priced in between. Check the website I linked.

I don’t wanna talk about dinner.
