Porsche CPO warranty SOCAL 2 additional years with unlimited mileages

Would like to figure out the detail in regards to Porsche CPO warranty wordings.

2 additional years of warranty with unlimited mileage after new car warranty expires.
Not applicable to cars sold prior to Model Year 2017 and cars with current 2 years and 100k mileage warranty.

that last part where it saids not applicable to 2 years @100k warranty, what is this?

and for any reason would anyone choose a new delivery @ 80 miles rather than a CPO @ 1000miles discounted for a few bucks, but got this 2 more years of unlimited mileage warranty? this unlimited mileage warranty is crazy.

New car warranty 4 yrs. Cpo adds 2 years. Total max is 6 years. If you get a very new “used” car.

They cannot Cpo the car again that’s already in the 2 yr Cpo time frame.

As to why a new car. It’s the non logical reasons. Custom orders/first butt in the seat. Or it’s a lease. I guess Porsche does offer used car leases but those rates are expensive.

It’d cost more, hope you know the cpo warranty isn’t free. It’s easily a few grand to certify higher end cars, verbally my bmw dealer said it’d be close to 2k to cpo an M4, and @wam22 can probably confirm the Porsche figures.


For Porsche cpo, if the car is out of new car warranty, you get a 2 year 100k warranty.

This means, 1 of 2 policies, add 2 year and infinite mile to remaining new car warrranty, or a 2 year 100k warranty if the car has no new car warranty remaining.

Because you get a new car, can custom order what you want, with new car incentives, availability, lease rvs, and mf, versus a used car in which you can get a longer cpo warranty (doesn’t matter unless you’re buying because you’d be stupid to lease a car that long).

In addition, this would cost extra money (the warranty costs money to certify too but is accounted in pricing).

It is an old warranty. Don’t worry about it.

Dealers are selling ex-loaners for MSRP with CPO due to lack of new car availability. But it is a good deal for those who keep their cars for a while.

Just as crazy as Olive Garden’s unlimited breadsticks with a soup or salad.

Starts at $2200 and goes up according to the car. And that is just for the warranty and doesn’t include the costs for getting the car up to CPO standards.

New car what? I am not familiar with that last word.

You have the CPO warranty itself (which cost money) and then the costs to actually certify it, like replacing tires/brakes or oil changes. So you can have the warranty cost $2500 and then the dealer spent $2000 to certify it (service and tires). It isn’t taboo to ask the dealer what work they performed, just don’t make the sales person run around getting this info if you aren’t serious about buying that particular car.

Sometimes the carfax lists some of the CPO work done if the dealer lists online and gives free access to the carfax report. If they aren’t transparent then guess they are fine with consumers asking/fishing for information from bored salespeople :slight_smile:

Tires, brakes and German battery are usually the bigger item costs.

We do at a minimum an oil and filter change on every used car. Most of the time it shows on the Carfax, sometimes it doesn’t. We also use ipacket, which has a bunch of car info. Sometimes it shows service receipts and original windows stickers and other times it doesn’t. Seems to be not rhyme or reason as to what cars do and don’t get particular info.
