I have a 2016 Cayenne S (owned outright) that we would like to update. Have found a 2024 Cayenne S CPO in Texas that I’m interested in with less than 10k miles. Does rate finder work on CPO cars? Does anyone know if Porsche CPO lease well?
Thanks

I know Porsches programs extremely well. I’m not a broker - just a guy in commercial real estate who used to be in the car business.
I’ve done 6 Porsche leases for myself and friends/family already in 2025. It’s the only make I deal with and I have all the relevant information. Send me a message if you like.
I wonder how much extra pain/work these ultra complicated resid-tables are for the sales and F&I teams at each Porsche showroom. It’s not like Porsche is a volume automaker… so haggling low-margin CPO leases has the be the most frustrating experience for any Porsche salesperson.
Well, maybe second only to @wam22 fielding 6 requests each day from @li8625 for a GT3 RS at 10% off MSRP.
The CPO lease program poorly marketed (so normals usually don’t even know the program exists). This is made worse where the CPO lease program is so complex that people who do know about it (LH) need to spam a ton of dealers trying to piece together the resids and structure a deal.
Excuse me, it’s 30% and closer to 30 times a day
Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. Click on Marketplace for CA, NY and TX to get an idea.
The additional challenge will be taxes specific to Texas residents. 6.25% of the selling price ie same as a purchase. So on a car with, say, a selling price of $115k that’s a tax bill of $7,200 which is $200 per month on a 36m lease.
You should get a job at his Porsche dealer so you can ask him for 30% off while he’s taking a coffee break.
I’ll just help you out, it’s extremely unlikely a 2024 will make much sense.
No lender tax credits for Porsche CPO leases in Texas? Lame.
The only frustrating part on my end is that CPO leases are not straightforward. So people get frustrated or think I am lying when another dealer has a CPO Taycan for $1k/mo and I am at $2k/mo because the residuals are thousands of dollars apart, even if my selling price is lower. They just see, “This Taycan is $2000 less, so it must lease better.”
FI gets frustrated because they can’t make money on the rate or sell protection plans like tire/wheel. And most are out of state, so they are doing more work for less pay. Plus, you get a lot of people who can’t afford a Porsche trying to lease it. A lot of people can afford $800/mo, but not many of those can get approved for a $100k+ loan. The bank cares way less about the payment than the do the total loan amount. Someone who has only had a $50k auto loan before isn’t necessarily qualified to borrow six figures even if the payment fits in their budget.
It also hurts our reputation when you have @li8625 and @HersheySweet driving around in 911s, regardless of what they paid.
You can lease this, but generally speaking, a 2025 model will be a better lease or not that much more. However, that depends on how the programs are written and how much it has been discounted from the original MSRP. You would probably need at least 15% off MSRP to have the same payment as a new lease.
I just spent 15 min explaining to one of my co-workers why a turbo taycan was cheaper to lease than a base car.
Don’t you dare put me in the same category as @HersheySweet*
*unless you wanna combine our purchase history together
I’m still amazed Porsche allowed the color combo of his build. Yuck. Talk about hurting the brand with what’s inside and what’s outside.
His isn’t that terrible. I’ve seen much worse. You know the saying… there is an ass for every seat.
General question for the forum…is there a certain year range to target on Porsche CPO leases? For example, does a two or three year old car have better programs than a one year old car? Or is newer better?
General rule of thumb, it’s impossible to beat this deal now… so if you can get anywhere close, consider yourself a winner.
I think @GOAT had an equally good deal available. But his transfer thread became such a toxic cesspool, that his thread was deleted. At least, I can’t find it any more.
As @IAC_Scott says, I lucked into my Taycan 4S. So it’s always better to be lucky than good.
CPO programs for the taycan and cayenne kinda got gutted in January…
@holeydonut or you can be the best mememaker on the forum and get spoonfed cheap porsches?
No,
I’ve never been denied, skill issue on @li8625 ‘s part. No stips, no denials, no drama unlike bro who had to sign a POA for his dad in a hotel parking lot.
I’ve been been denied by Porsche either…
We’ve literally had this conversation twice today.
we can combine our purchase history so we can flip gt3RS together. You dolt
Me: Together? Flipping? And who is this we BS?
