been contacting SA for a months for retiring loaner before the tariff BS.
well, now the time has passed and i’m told that the car will be sold at MSRP.
car might have already been sold, if the situation is really that bad, but i rejected a few days ago and now i’m wondering, should i get it if they still have it?
It would help to know what model you’re referring to.
Get a 911 at msrp if you can . The chances tariffs being higher than now is high.
Well, yeah. Even a year older Macans sell for almost the same price as they did a year ago.
Depends on model, trim, color combination and MSRP.
it’s cayenne base model with a exhaust and a few other options. there is new one at same price.. i’m not sure how much they usually charge for additional year warranty, but i guess CPO gets 2 years warranty compare to the new ones only.
well, just tweaked some options and the difference is like 10K for 2-3k worth of options.. i guess it’s not really worth it lol
Do not buy a loaner Cayenne for MSRP. That is insane.
Tariffs are on cars imported post implementation. The ones landed are not impacted so please factor those prices accordingly. Don’t let the dealers create this scarcity urgency.
If the price of a new Cayenne is estimated to go up $10K due to tariffs, what happens to the price of existing unsold Cayennes and used Cayennes? The dealers are going to ask top dollar for them. I think the Porsche dealers have already started adjusting prices knowing Winter is coming…
You’re forgetting the impact on demand. If the tariffs stay in place no one is going to have money to buy a Porsche. It’s all scare tactics
In the short term, just expect the average transaction price to go up. Less discounts and incentives. Maybe forced PFS financing to recoup some of the tariff. Even though “in country” new vehicles and used vehicles aren’t subject to the tariff, dealers may spread the load by hiking up the prices on these. Cayennes, Panameras, Macans and Taycans are gonna be lot anchors with an added tariff on top. So they’ll probably try to subsidize it by charging the full extent of the tariff on 911s and GT cars to make up for it.
I argue that Porsche has never been so profitable. In the end if the economy tanks, which it will in the event of implemented tariffs there will be less demands. The offset is less imports which creates less supply. My advise is buy the car and negotiate without fear. The dealers needs to sell cars. Negotiate off new order and it lands in their books pretariff without impact to their inventory.
