Polestar long range $399 for 27mos

Came here looking for a discussion about this deal being heavily advertised on Reddit. The last time I saw a similar ad was for lucid in 2024 when I missed a great deal. Anyone looked into it?:

National ads are terrible. Read the fine print and you realize it requires massive down payment, is missing tax and fees. I’m sure one of the polestar brokers can crush whatever effective monthly this comes out to.

Relative to almost every other EV it’s a terrible deal.

$5,400 plus Tax, title, license, registration and dealer fees are additional fees due at signing.

No thanks.

This deal sucks imo

You can get a lyric rwd for less
Kia EV9 for less
The list goes on and on.

However I do believe some brokers can get you a solid deal on these if you really the like polestar

I agree this is not a great deal. I priced out the Polestar this month. The advertised lease is closer to $550/mo before tax, title and fees when the big down payment is factored in.

Granted, you can probably negotiate the selling price lower, but I just didn’t find the car that appealing. The base model has decent range, but its 400 volt architecture isn’t super fast at charging and the RWD long range is 0-60 in 7.5 seconds, which is very slow by luxury EV standards. There’s no hands-free driving, and the only interior colors are dark and dour unless you pay $5500 for leather.

For me, the car was only desirable with AWD, leather, plus and Pilot packages, which made an $82k SUV costing a minimum of $575/mo if I got a steal of a deal. In the end I didn’t even bother trying. I preferred the Ioniq 5 on the lower end, the Audi Q6 on the mid-end, and the BMW iX on the high end.

And Polestar is hemorrhaging cash, which just lowers their desirability in my mind even more. Volvo can’t afford to float them anymore, so good luck!

We try our best to ignore the uneducated masses while they upvote garbage lease deals on their wretched platform.

If you want a great deal on a lease: forget everything you read there, force-quit any AI apps you might ask, get out a calculator and start reading Leasing 101 here which explains why

They’re not worth anyone’s time, even when they’re a punchline.
