Hi!
I just picked up my Cadillac Lyriq loaner/demo and it has some good sized scratches on the tailgate and in the trunk.
I made a video when picking up the car documenting the damage and I was told by the salesperson the damage had been recorded.
Am I correct that when I return the car I won’t be on the hook for this damage? Should I be asking for their records of it or asking them to repair?
Thanks

You are not correct. You will still be responsible as the leasing bank doesn’t care how it got damaged when you return the car. Get an I Owe You, asking them to fix it.
Also post pics of the damage, some damages can be considered normal wear and tear.

Sure, but you are still responsible for it to be fixed before you return it.
It’s been recorded doesn’t mean, we will pay for it.
Did you sign a “we owe” saying they owe nothing
Get the dealer to fix what’s needed. The bank/lessor won’t care what has been recorded or documented whenever you return it.

Pic the tailgate it worse in person, thick through the paint
Scuff plate isn’t a big deal for the return, but the exterior will likely need a respray. Its difficult to tell by the photo.

If it’s longer than 4" you are gonna pay big time.
