Percentage Discount on Mercedes-Benz with Many Options

Looking to lease a 2021 GLA in NorCal with lots of options. Current spec is ~50K MSRP. I’m wondering how much more one can negotiate off of a car with so many options.

Is a 15% discount prior to incentives too aggressive?

P.S. We care a lot about the assistive functions, AMG package, etc. Which is why we prefer an optioned-out GLA vs. GLC.

Not quite how it usually works. When something lower in the lineup is stuffed with options, it tends to sit longer, which can make for a bigger discount. It’s not more heavily discounted just because it’s on the high-end of its own msrp.

You’re shopping for a 2021, which won’t be considered aging for months, and you are looking for something very specific; both diminish your negotiating power.

Have you done a nationwide search to see how many are on the ground that meet your requirements?

Thanks for the insight.
There aren’t many with those specs. My initial search in SoCal and NorCal yielded 3 of them.

You’re shopping the car over the deal.

If you haven’t, get the residual/MF/incentives for the 2021 CLA in your zip from Edmunds. Check and see if you’re MB supplier eligible. Compare other CLA deals here in Shared Deals (I’ve seen lots of 2020s not sure about 2021s).

And maybe @Calvin.MB or some of the MB dealers/brokers can help you out. Be careful what you say in your communication with the dealers because as soon as you mention

They are going to know you are set on a very small number or cars in the region.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Yup, no 2021 GLA posts yet. I checked Edmunds but I’m waiting on September numbers. I also qualify for preferred employee incentives which have not yet been released for the month.

I’m of course keeping information close to my chest while talking to dealers, and would still be willing to walk away if I can’t get the options I’d like. But since I care about these specs, I know my negotiating power is limited.

Fleet incentive will probably be $500 on top of regular incentive.

I did 12% pre-incentive on a 2020 GLA loaner. On a new 2021 I would think 6% to 8% is good.
