Ford dealer called me today about turning in lease early. I’m currently 3k miles over and 3 months to go. Dealer told me that if I tuned in early that Ford would prorate and add another 3k miles for the remaining 3 months for total of 6k. I called bull and told him to bug off!! I’m 3k over now and assume if I turned in today I would owe 3k @.20 per mile. Anyone know if he was actually telling the truth???
They may have a program for pull ahead leases and overages; someone familiar with this might chime in. They can also just pay for it on your behalf and add it somewhere in the new lease you are getting (they may just include it in your new purchase price). You may also pre-pay for miles; I’m not sure if ford does this but many companies do so you can call ahead and buy them before you turn in.
To answer your question directly; I don’t know if they are telling the truth but if not they can still work it out. In the future try getting more miles in the next lease or go with manufacturers that are more lenient with mileage overage turn ins when getting a new lease like Acura.
This one was originally leased for my wife who barely drives 7k per year but she hated it so I took it over after a year. I always start with 12k miles on mine.
So - first you tell the dealer to “bug off!!!” and then you ask here if he was telling the truth? That’s really smart.
Same guy has lied in the past so I always assume he’s lying. Usually know when he says it. This time I had to check
Doesn’t make any more sense going to the same dealer who has lied to you in the past.
Take it easy there buddy. They called me I didn’t call them. Just fact checking.
Ford is not going to add another 3k. What you should do is get another ford . And 3 months from now call when you have the bill and negotiate them. Its very possible that they can waive some mileage off or take it down to like .15 a mile. I know that acura waives up to 7500 miles over if you get another acura
