Yeah - finance called me today so I laid out the 3 errors again so will see. The deal breaker was the extra miles but was hoping someone here had dmv or tax issues that got corrected by captive or a resign. The correct taxes lower the pmt for me vs raise and I am ok with higher pmt as is.
With peace and loveā¦make sure everything is correct before you sign. Weāve had people on here have cars sit in their driveway for months because they canāt get them registered due to tax/dmv mistakes that were on the contract. It almost always goes in a circleā¦dealer says captive can fix it, captive says dealer needs to fix it, and around and around you go.

Oh I gotcha - understood good advice.
Not trying to be an a$$, but weāve seen many contract mistakes on here that turn into holy hell trying to rectify after the fact. Especially with this being a CDJR dealer ⦠good luck

Dealer got back with revised lease today. Now has correct dmv fees. Taxes did not fix - still look high but he said correct rate is entered - I am ok with pmt even with overtax. Most important they got rid of me buying 30k miles at end of lease at 17 cents per that was a deal breaker. Flying to TX in morning.
Did they give any explanation of the 30k miles at .17?
No just said it was an error. They admitted that they donāt do much Leasing at all, which makes sense Itās Texas and they donāt do much out of state.
I still worry about the incorrect tax. Another poster had that happen to a Volvo lease recently. Dealer was in Louisiana; purchaser was in TX. Taxes were wrong and TX would not register the car until tax situation was fixed. Mind you it was an underpayment. But in TX you pay sales tax on the full sales price of the vehicle to the state. With your (incorrect) tax being added to the lease payment hopefully it wonāt cause any confusion with registration.
IDK the last time anyone on this forum got a Stellantis product unless it was stupid cheap AND convenient.
Pre-sale headaches, pretty much guaranteed post-sale headaches, a non-trivial chance the vehicle breaks down between TX and WI⦠this would be a hard pass for most forum members but OP seems to have had his blinders on from the getgo and ignored all the red flags

I did read that and it seemed like Texas was short upfront taxes hence no register. Here Wisconsin is getting too much. So will see how it goes.
The car is going to Mizzou so a bit closer but get your point. The dealer said they donāt lease much and never out of state. The risks are real. I got the dmv fixed and miles purchase at turn in taken out so that was enough to make me go. He also showed deal screen with correct tax rate entered. Wisconsin has a code on dmv form that exempts tax at registration for a lessee and only requires a FEIN code for lessor so taxes can be collected directly. I have the dmv forms all filled out ahead of time for the title clerk. Fingers crossed.
Correct, you are not shorting the government any taxes. My worry is that when the state verifies the taxes owed to them it will trigger some sort of issue with the taxes being wrong in general. You know how bureaucrats can be. Even though itās an overpayment they could still not register the car do to a āerror in tax.ā
Certainly possible. I had a $350 overtax calcuated. Hoping for the best.
Keep us posted
I secured the vehicle and signed yesterday. They told me at signing that they will use 50 State Svcs for registration which was good news. I had suggested this early on to them and they didnāt respond. I feel better about dmv fees now and they collected enough as well. Taxes still looked high. Wild card on that still. Better over than short I believe.
