Options on cheap lease

Hey guys, question in todays current market, what cars are leasing the best?. I am looking for a cheap lease under $200 a month with all fees and taxes rolled in. I’ve been checking edmunds and it seems that my choices are down to, Kia Forte, VW Jetta, Mazda 3…

I’m looking to do 24month/12k mile lease I just need a car to hold me over for the next 2 years. It could be any type of car just trying to not spend so much. I’m in VA.

Thanks

Not going to happen because:

  1. It’s 24 months
  2. It’s VA

Virtually impossible. In VA? Totally magical unicorn city.

As others said - your VA sales tax is on the full price and will be spread over shorter period of time on 24 months. Plus don’t forget the property tax.

First step to hack great lease deals: Move out of VA.
You are welcome.

Plus most dealers charge at least a $699 processing fee, there is another $30 per month on a 24 month lease…

$699 if you are lucky. But there are other states around VA with lower fees.

What is the ideal monthly terms?

High 400s would be ideal in VA

I meant like how many months should the lease be for ideal low monthly payments

It varies based on the specific deal. Region, programs, terms, etc all make a difference. There isn’t a one size fits all answer.

OP referred to 24 months as if it would make the monthly rate higher. Was he just wrong then?

" Not going to happen because:

  1. It’s 24 months"

24 months tend to be worse, although not always. However, when you combine 24 months with being in a state where tax is applied on the entire value of the vehicle, the shorter the term, the larger the monthly tax burden.

Usually 36 months is better than 24 but yes it always depends.

MSDs and/or a lot of downpayment??

Dc or Maryland?
