One pay lease - 2023 Accord touring

Lease info

I know a lot of people think one-payment leases are crazy but I don’t want monthly bills. I work on commission my wife doesn’t work and I don’t know what the next 36 months could look like plus I already have her car payments. If I total a new car the loss of some money would be the least of my worries.

I plan on selling my 2018 Accord Touring and putting that into the 2023 lease and maybe buying it at the end if I want to. I might just privately sell it to get more. It has 26K miles on it and is in good condition, garage kept etc.

The quote on the 2023 Accord Touring nonpremium color single-pay lease. One payment of $24,439.94 with a residual of $23,781 - 61% residual - comes with GAP coverage too

I live in NJ 08534 - but the dealership is in PA since my local one was adding 5K and protection BS to the cost of a lease and wasn’t budging.

I don’t have the money factor for a one-pay lease I asked for that data. They did share with me the MF for non-one-pay leases. .00285 AKA 6.84% They quoted me for a 36 Month lease 5K down 552$ a month 10K down 393$, 15K down 234$

36/10K miles

Below are the fees.

The selling price is $38,985

Tax Zip 08534 - $1352.35

Tire Tax $5.00

Local Use Fund $5.00

Acquisition fee $795

Online Registration $20.47

Doc Fee $449.00

Title Fees $58.00

Registration $39.00

Transfer Fee $9

Temporary Tag $34.00

Total fees $2766.47

Is this a good deal? My credit score is over 800 too. What should I be pushing back against? What is the MF on a one pay Honda lease? THANK You for the help!

What good would gap coverage do you here? Did they include additional gap coverage, or are just highlighting the gap waiver included on all honda leases?

Did you run the numbers to finance it and put $25k down instead of 1-pay? Seems $25k to lease a $39k car doesn’t seem like it makes sense to me.

I read on hondas site one pay leases include it How to Lease Your Honda | Honda.

I didn’t want a monthly bill. In 3 years I can pay it off or send it back depending on how I feel about the car and my finances.

I agree they’re on something. More like 21K with all taxes and fees from what I can see online vs residual…

Honestly, I really think you should do the math to see how leasing + buying out compares to just financing it.

If you really hate making payments, why not just set up auto pay? Lol.

And if you really really hate just even budgeting for payments why not just buyout the 2018 Touring?

Can’t you also just make payments in advance for the next 3 years :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I fully own the 2018 touring. I bought it at the end of my lease in Jan of 22 for like 18K

You’re likely better off purchasing an Accord - they don’t lease well historically.

How would I do that? I was hoping to save some interest too on a single pay…

If I bought it I would need to dip into savings and I don’t want to do that. I want to sell my 18 accord and drive the 23 for the next 3 years not worrying about the payments like a teenager whose dad just them a car whose payments they next see!

Is it an MSRP deal?

At .00285, youre probably not saving any money on interest over purchasing.

Yes, MSRP.
I don’t see anyone near me doing better than MSRP in the central NJ/eastern PA Markets… If anything I saw another dealer tack on 5K (market adjustment) and 1400 “protection package” AKA mats and splash guards… Redic

Thia can effectively be achieved by financing, sticking the money in an account, and autopaying.

You can probably also achieve this by financing and then making a huge payment. I recall in the past making extra payments on car loans and it pushing my "next payment due date " out accordingly

What interest rate are you getting? You can probably finance 60 months or less at 3%

that rate wasn’t for single pay. They’re looking into that rate. It will be lower. I was wondering if anyone here would know…

I only got the MF on leases with money down not the single pay. I was hoping people would know on here so I know what I’m getting into.

Why not keep this car?

There will be no monthly bill on the '18 Accord.

It is none of my business, but I don’t understand the reasoning behind getting a new car right now.
