I have been researching the Lightning for quite some time and finally signed up here since lease deals seem to be better on them now. After scouring this forum, the Lightning reddit and forum, edmunds and dealer sites I have been running different VINs through the calculator. Before I put together an offer sheet to try to make a deal I want to make sure I have the correct rebate stack and get any other advice on leasing one of these. Credit score is around 700 currently, not sure what the FMC cutoff is for the best MF.
MSRP $75,725
10% dealer discount $68,153 - Most FL dealers only show the $2500 as a discount, not sure how far I can push this one.
Rebates/discounts
Summer Sales cash $900
EV RCL Cash $5000
Bonus Cust Cash $2500
Lightning VIN Specific Bonus Cash $8900
AXZ Bonus Cash $6750 (not in calculation) This one is in question, I have seen that it can be applied and also that it’s not applicable. I would have to sign up for EAA or similar anyway.
With taxes and fees this works out to about $310/month with $310 DAS, less if I trade in one of my beaters and get a solid price for it, otherwise I sell it outright.
I am planning on sending an email with a simple sheet, I really don’t want to waste my time at the dealer. There are a couple available regionally, but bed liner and max tow in this one is the configuration I want.
Anything else I need to be aware of/tips etc?
A Lariat ER would be even better but I am only seeing the regular MF in the calculator which is 9.5%
The VIN pulls up both - I am less concerned with axz plan as I may not even be able to get a PIN. If the rest of the rebates stack and are correct I am hoping I can get 10% off msrp to make the deal worthwhile.
Be careful with the EAA signup…I think you need to be a member in good standing for 90 days before you can use the plan through them for it to be valid.
Ratefinder is just showing what’s available. You’ll need to call the dealer to see if the vin specific applies. I didn’t find a single one of any trim in SoCal that had it.
Reading around, it seems these are pre-price adjustment builds. I doubt there’s many around as that happened a year ago.
Two different trucks, vastly different quotes. I haven’t verified which discounts have been applied, aside from both looking like it’s just the Ford rebates and not any real dealer discounts. $3200 MSRP difference between the two. I was told some of the VIN specific discounts don’t show up in SmartVincent.
First up is a pretty basic XLT ER, no bedliner, tow tech or max tow.
$387/month, tax line is not reconciling for me.
Second is the trim I want, but not at this price. Has max tow, tow tech and a bedliner.
$593/month, non tax fees (interest?) sticks out to me. Already emailed to ask, and mentioned I have the other offer.
Not having these in the same format makes it tough to compare.
This is a failure in preparation. You should have a target deal put together for both trims before ever talking to a dealer. You can not effectively negotiate a deal without knowing where youre trying to negotiate to.
I won’t comment on the fees and tax portion, but:
Deal 1: You need to get a breakdown on the rebates. That looks like EV + bonus customer + summer + AXZ plan
Deal 2: Thats the same rebates as deal 1 without AXZ plan.
If you can get deal 2 to add AXZ (and figure out the tax+fees), then it should be stronger than deal 1 on the one you want. Also, just to note X-plan doesn’t work. Need A or Z.
@mllcb42 My target was (is) the original portion of this topic, the offers are what came back after I sent the initial email. I am just learning this stuff, and don’t need a new vehicle, I have been wanting to go full EV and dump two ICE cars in the process. If neither of these pan out, no loss, if I can figure out out to hack on
then I’ll be happy! FL dealers have no motivation to discount these and have them sitting on lots for ages unfortunately. We currently lease a C40 Ultimate for $585/month (15 months into 36/10), I wanted to negotiate further but the fiance was happy with it. That process led me to LH!
@TheAvia7or Thanks for confirming, I tried to redo the offers in the calculator and it seems theres no actual dealer discount, just moving around existing Ford rebates. I don’t think I can get A or Z, so that sends me back to the drawing board. The fact I can’t seem to get any dealer to budge off of MSRP is frustrating, I was testing the water to purchase back in april/may and decided to wait (pre 0% financing) as I got sick of dealership bs. As much as I want to buy, a lease works out better financially and for the tech evolving.
