The donation ask was always cringe imo. Either share deals or donāt. Nobody owes anybody anything. If someone wants to donate to this site on their own, they can. Asking them to do so, just so they can get some mediocre lease deal in this thread is silly.
Iām sure this post will trigger somebody, but who cares. I said what I said. Been here a long time and have definitely contributed over the years. Love this site and always do what I can when I have time to help others here, especially via DMs. So save the lecture

Well I get youāre point but your definition of mediocre is questionable. The deals Iāve seen asking for donations and read times have often been leaps and bounds better than typical broker provided deals
Now how this all started and who is vetting these donations I got no clue. But to say a djrabbi et Al deal is mediocre then Iād ask what and who exactly are you vested in if itās not getting people looking for the best deal available handed to them without doing the work themselves
So by all means give me a $900 s580 monthly and I pay no fee or donation or a 10k glc63 and Iāll gladly appreciate your services

I actually like the donation angle. @djrabbi is a solid guy and is insane at getting good deals. Why would you want to criticize him for wanting to seed the money into LH? Whatās the difference when people pay brokers a fee upfront?
Issue is, which makes sense, people canāt confirm if donations are valid or if Iām taking the fee myself. I understand this. I seen brokers asking $2500 for same s class deals and they get it to the right client sometimes.
I have people asking me for free S580 deals for the āgoodness of my heartā. LH is a great community and donations of any sort should be made but minimum of $100.

Put the donations into a little piggybank and then after some time, purchase an exotic car. Those that feed free deals can share it a few months eachā¦

Nobody criticized him.
My issue was with the whole donation ask in general. I shared my views on it and I stand by those views. Itās an unnecessary ask.
Nobody is forcing people here to share deals. Itās a choice to do so. If I come across a great deal that I donāt want, Iāll share it. Why? Because this forum has been helpful over the years and thatās my contribution back to the community. Iām not going to ask anybody for anything. I help because I want to, not because I expect something back in return.
Now you mentioned why this is different from paying brokers a fee, and thatās simple. Brokers do this for a living and itās their job. There is a difference between you and I sharing deals occasionally to help others, vs brokers who are regularly working on sourcing these deals for a living. There are costs associated with running a business and they earn their fee by being the middle man for the deal from start to finish.
My understanding is this thread isnāt meant for brokers to post deals. Itās meant for fellow LHers to share deals with each other. So with that lens, there should be no expectation of required compensation in any form, donation or otherwise.

This will be landfilled and thatās fine. But Iām really disappointed in the idea that asking for a donation is problematic. This whole āmake it free or donātā is just silly. Youāre getting access to absolutely smoking deals as of late and if you think these are just run of the mill deals, I suggest you take a look around at what brokers are offering on loaner discounts. It takes even a seasoned hacker much time and effort to find deals like this or a fountain of previous MYs and a willing participant. Not easy by a long shot.
So, I see nothing wrong with supporting this great site (we can agree on that) by requiring a donation with these offers. I havenāt made it a requirement for the reason that I donāt want to add the enforcement of it to the already tall effort Iām putting into this, but I feel DJ (or anyone) is totally within reasonable rights to offer these bangers in a way that benefits LH overall.

Hey Iām in Florida, Iām getting offered $586 a month $1500 DAS for first month and registration for a 36 month 12k mile on an F150 Lightning Flash. Is this a good deal? Iām getting the 1.97% and 52% money factor I got on Edmundās. It seems like theyāre giving a bunch of rebates but not dealer discount. Itās just the employee pricing. But itās the best deal Iāve gotten so far every other dealer is in the $620s. The MSRP of the truck is about 71k. So it seems pretty solid.

Yessir. Leases arenāt greatā¦ it would be like $1,200/mo effective on a 24/7.5k. The (buy) rate is equivalent to 7.19% so it would be over $300/mo in rent charge alone, residual is OK. There is about zero incentive to lease.
