Front windshield is chameleon and rest of the car is 20%
Can you share the numbers on the Escalade
Strongly recommend that you add some tax rate(s) to your calculators not to throw off people who donāt know how to use calculator and expect no more than 10% bump and then be hit with about double that and about extra grand on DAS.
FYI, one of your CA competitors took a lot of heat for that and now they show two tax rates (i.e. 7.5 and 9.5%) to have much more transparency since CA taxing incentives makes a big difference on EVs.
Thanks, but since everyone has different tax rates, I clearly specify that monthlies are plus tax, pricing includes estimated registration, and the drive-off amount is plus tax on incentives. It gets too confusing with calculators and different incentives as it is, so two tax rates will make it worse.
Thatās exactly what the other broker tried to claim before finally agreeing to include taxes in their numbers. In fact, opposite is true, itās much easier to do mental math where the sales tax needs to be adjusted by a percentage point or so and having high and low rates actually provides helpful ranges. Clearly, having low second rate isnāt necessary.
Most So Cal brokers use 9.5% as itās the current rate for most of LA County (largest by population). Works quite well for Santa Clara up north as well. People living in other jurisdictions know how to adjust their sales tax up or down as they do it regularly elsewhere. What they donāt do or see regularly is calculating tax on ~10K of taxable incentives.
Little transparency goes a long way.
I think Iām one of the most transparent people out here. I donāt make payments seem lower than they would be by listing cars with only 7,500 miles per year and full MSDs at signing. I also always provide calculators and different incentive information, aside from making it clear that numbers are always plus tax on incentives.
Then take one last step and throw in a tax rate - any reasonable rate - for full transparency. 7500 mi and full MSDs are probably most common deal structures post COVID anyway, so, no harm no foul. Burying tax rate is on another level. Your call!
Because this was totally derailedā¦reminder about these i4s.
Nice bump, lol! Trying to keep brokers and dealers on a straight and narrow is not derailing. But you seem to have made up your mind and chose to be intentionally misleading.
Real numbers here at 9.375%:
$367/mo
$3,114 DAS a wee bit different from your $2,050 plus tax, huh?
$457 effective
@admins @trusted_legacy_group Can we please stop with the harassment? Iām pretty much the most transparent person here.
@admins @trusted_legacy_group @michael how about this gets its own thread? Omega was shown the door for far smaller indiscretion. This is clearly intentionally misleading to grab business.
Yes, the layoffs are coming. 20% at Chevron alone.

LC content: some of these employees drive Land Cruisers.
Walmart also sells land cruisers. Which you can use a JP Morgan Chase Sapphire card to pay for it. And you can get gasoline at Chevron for your Toyota on your way to pick up your order curbside.
Corporate jobs have been getting hammered last 2yrs+. Tech especially. My current employer had multiple rounds off layoffs in 2023 and 2024. A lot of industries have been leaning out for some time. Jobs gains over last few years have not come from salaried positions.
Thatās the only way those on the sidelines ever get let back into real estate at normal prices. Youāll need a lot more layoffs than that though. Time will tell. The Fed will likely defend hard against layoffs though, since thatās where so many stock market flows come from (401k plans). They have to decide whether they care more about jobs or inflation, and I wish them good luck.
Edit: Land Cruisers
Donāt confuse people with facts and logic. It messes up their talking points.
At least we donāt have to worry about all the govt layoffs competing for existing jobs. Everyone knows their skill set is as lacking as land cruisers power

Hey Habibi can you let me know which dealer in Socal OC? Im looking to lease the same vehicle. Thanks in advance brother ![]()
