I think @GOAT is trying that same tactic, but his zip code isn’t as affluent/low-risk as yours.

Insurance is about $250 a month with $1000 deductible. I don’t have teen drivers.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.
I am sorry that things did not work out in this situation and will certainly take your notes into consideration.

Would just like to add in a couple of brief points of context that may have been left out:

  1. The provided quotes in the text were confirmed. Shortly after, it was also communicated over text and numerous calls that the dealer would need time to validate the taxes before taking any further strides. This was known and acknowledged.

  2. Client repeatedly requested a rush on the process despite knowing that there was not much that could be done. Even so I advocated as such attempted to escalate the process.

  3. Patience was repeatedly requested through the long weekend and highlighted that diligence is to help everyone. Reminded that canceling the deal was a ready option if they desired. Client imposed a hard deadline to chat with the dealer, ignoring my suggestion for patience, and the client/dealer conversation yielded no changes to the process.

  4. The client had repeated calls to the dealer in attempts to understandably confirm taxes. There was no exchange of funds between parties nor were there any request for binding signatures of obligatory actions from the client, there was also no promises made from any parties.

  5. Ultimately taxes were confirmed higher. The client was immediately informed. There was no malicious intent or attempt for misdirection ect. ect. Without the clients approval of said change, contracts were not even drafted. Exactly what was outlined had taken place, unfortunately the outcome was unfavorable.

  6. I spoke with the client immediately. Communicated that their taxes were simply adjusted to reflect the confirmation of the state’s current tax code - shame that it increased the cost. The client was not receptive to this response, instead indicating that I should have somehow known this from the start (a complete impossibility - I had clearly communicated that this process and outcome was out of my scope as a whole and they knew this)

Client made it clear that they were not interested post-adjustment. Reasonable and no problem at all. They were reassured that their broker fee deposit would be reversed. They paid no other funds and had no obligations.

Fact of the matter was that taxes were adjusted to accuracy just as they were anticipated to do so. After hours invested into the deal I understood the client’s frustrations, but did not appreciate the direction this conversation was heading.

Listening through heated remarks from the client and shouted responses, I simply asked the outcome the client wanted. When negligence was implied I reminded them of their impatience during the dealer’s diligence processes - a hard but factual truth. Broker fee deposit was returned to the client, and writing a review was communicated as a retaliation, something that I instead invited so that we can all learn from situations like this.

Ultimately, it is a shame that things did not work out and you could not get this 6-figure car for its mid $600 payment. I can certainly see why that is upsetting!

I hope that some of the clarified recounts of the situation can help provide insight on what happened.

Thank you for your feedback and good luck with your car search!

Affluent neighborhoods translate into high premiums since you’re surrounded by expensive cars that cost a lot more to fix than non-luxury trucks and vans in working class neighborhoods.

Which carrier? That would be impossible in LA even on EQE.

I don’t live in an affluent neighborhood. My cars worth then everyone’s on the block probably. Their rates probably higher cause of my cars lol

  1. On 11/09 (second day of us talking and without any “rushing”), he ALONE confirms the price as shown in the original texts.
  2. Ash told us we’d get a call from the dealer on Saturday, we didn’t. Next, Sunday, still no call, Monday, still no call… Finally, we get the call on Wednesday. Since Ash was saying we’d get a call, but we weren’t for several days, we were just asking for an update because we were worried something might be wrong. This is what he considered as “rushing” and being “impatient”.

So why confirm the price on Saturday (11/09) if it WASN’T a confirmed price? Again, I hadn’t rushed him at all. THAT was his mistake.
If he’d had just apologized about that, I wouldn’t have even written this review.
I wrote this review because he kept trying to put this on me saying that I rushed him and I was impatient.

TLDR: IF HE GIVES YOU A NUMBER INTIALLY, TAKE IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT, AND MAKE SURE YOU CONFIRM MULTIPLE TIMES WITH BOTH ASH AND THE DEALER. EVEN AFTER A “CONFIRMATION”.

Whatever man… compared to @drdvgrs living in Oxnard, you’re basically in Beverly Hills.

Also if you change your zip code to an urban area, your comprehensive costs will go up by like 5000%

Oxnard is very unique as there are multi-million dollar waterfront properties at one end of the spectrum and basically shacks for farmhand at the other.

“Was?” Are you saying he’s busy picking strawberries now?
