Off-Topic Landfill 6

Like I said, I am not very religious myself, I was just making a commentary which more so reflects this point:

Which I totally agree with.

Overall, the point is, whether it was a church, or a temple, any other religious gathering place, or an Elk Lodge, or a VFW, or otherwise, people got a sense of community and cohesion from these types of organizations, religious or not, and they are all on the decline, and like @EC99 said, they are not being replaced by anything, especially for young people, besides activism.

Yup, and I agree that religious differences have caused major strife throughout the world and in history, but you’re kind of missing the point of what I’m talking about, which is basically what @EC99 stated above. Also, I don’t think Christians in some church in a mid-size anytown are going around the world killing people, so again, your point isn’t very relevant to what I was saying.

I’m specifically talking about America and people deriving a sense of community and cohesion from religious or other community organizations, all of which are on the decline. We both know some random parishioners in small town America aren’t running around killing people in the name of the invisible man in the sky.
