% off MSRP for year old model?

Hi all,

I’m currently looking at some different cars and I’ve stumbled on the X3 and X5. One of the dealers close to my house has quite a few 2020 models.

When negotiating the selling price of a year-old model, where’s the best place to research what % off I should be aiming for? I use Edmunds forums but I’m not sure where to find this information.

Thank you!

I wouldn’t bother there. There are lots of bmw leases to reference here in the shared deals and broker listings to pull from.

Most cars do not lease well. This is truer now than it has ever been.

So unless you are willing to push this boulder uphill, you need to look at other makes/models that lease better and offer more value per dollar.

Check out the “Share a Deal” and “Marketplace” sections of LH forums to see what’s leasing well and narrow down your search.

Edmunds forums are extremely useful in finding base MF and RV for a certain vehicle/trim level/lease term/mileage. They are extremely helpful people!

Even though they are year-end models, don’t expect discounts to rival those of loaners. I would estimate 1-2% more pre-incentive than a 2021, but you also have to consider that 2021s may have better leasing terms than the 2020s.

Agreed. They’re fantastic for that info.
