Notifications not always visible?

I’m not sure if anybody has had this issue, but do you sometimes not get certain notifications? Like, someone can reply to me in a post, but I don’t get the blue “1”. Is that normal? same thing with the “heart” feature. I’ve only had this issue for the last week or so.

With the live notifications, I have them off and they still come through…

Were you active on the thread when someone responded or liked your post? That might make the software think that you have already viewed them?
