Sold my leased vehicle to Vroom yesterday and I have been reading posts that I should file Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability with the DMV. Reading the FAQ and instructions, I have some questions. First, I am not a legal owner of the vehicle and can’t legally sell the vehicle. Two, the online form requires first and last name of the new owner and I can’t figure how to indicate Vroom as the new owner of the vehicle. Third, until Chase accepts the payoff payment as satisfactory obligation, transfer can’t happen.
What am I missing?
Edit: Okay upon further thought, I guess Vroom is paying off Chase on my behalf and I’m selling it to Vroom. I just filled in “Unnown” for the first and last name and used Vroom’s address in TX.
