Not sure about Audi S5 additional service

,

Hi, I am going to pick up my Audi S5 with the all-season tire (It is so stupid that it can’t be combined with the black optic package). which was placed one year ago… I got 10% off. Right now the money factor is too high so I go through the 72 months/1.99 apr program.

I got some quick questions since I never bought a decent car before. So sorry to ask some stupid questions, I am just afraid if I missed something.

  1. The gap insurance offered by the dealer is 995, should I purchase it? My state farm seems not covering it.
  2. I mainly drive in Michigan, the road is not good, and the road hazard premium is 2331 for 60 months, it’s not worth it, right?
  3. I plan to purchase the Audi care 1399 (they don’t allow me to combine it with the 10% off). This is worth it?
  4. Any extra care like Term Care plus Rotors: 2413 for 4 years, is it worth paying? Based on my research, I feel like it is not needed.

Is it S5 or SQ5? If it’s S5 than great job on finding a dealer thats discounting this much. Audi is not offering 1.9% for S5. I think their promotional offer right now is 4.9% for 72 months.

It is an S5 coupe. It’s been ordered for more than a year :(.

Audi has the 1.99 for 72 months promotion right now I have got approved~ I think it expires at the end of August, not sure if it will extend this next month.

Do you have an active Costco membership. You can get it for free on the S5 rn.

Audi is in fact offering 1.9% for 72 months on the S5 coupe.

If you can get Audi care free through Costco, that’s the way to go.

Road hazard and gap insurance, I always skip.

I don’t even know what team care is so that’s a no for me.

Congrats on a great deal.

Avoid any packages at finance. They can all be purchased from third party after the fact if anything. For example, gap can be bought for $250 instead of the $999 from Audi.

Do get the Audi care with Costco for free !

My s5 did have problems with tire bubbles and nails so I’d find a third party road insurance.

A good options for road hazard. You pay tax and install fees if tires need to be replaced.

There’s no need for gap insurance here.

Thank you so much! I tried to find gap insurance, but I only find Fidelity Warranty Services and it is only available at the dealer. My current insurance is state farm, which is around 300 cheaper than other insurance companies. But it does not provide gap insurance.

Like @max_g mentioned, you probably won’t need it in this current overpriced car climate and I would agree. I got it through my CU for $250 for peace of mind and since it was a great price.

If it was my s5, I’d skip the gap and get the road insurance from the third party listed above.

Audi F&I guy here

That’s crazy, nice find!

Not worth it at that price.

Assuming that’s Audi T&W, I would offer that for much less if you wanted it. I’d probably consider it at the right price on an S5.

Sometimes Audi Care is worth it, it’s nice on leases since you get an additional 1% on the residual. Just ask yourself, do you think you’ll spend over $1399 on basic maintenance in 4 years/40k miles?

I can also offer you that for much less if interested. Close to $1000 less, at that price with the rotor coverage, I’d say it’s worth it. Not for $2413 though.

Do you plan to keep the car past its factory warranty of 4 years/50k miles?

Have you tried reaching out to State Farm about adding gap insurance to your current policy?

Not sure if it matters that OP ordered the car a year ago. Going to try and look up the fine print on the Costco promo.

Here is the fine print.

@doter666 - Are you a Costco member? If yes, I would reach out to the dealer about it.

I just checked this out and they do not have any Luxury brands listed in the drop-down menu.

It seems the dealer doesn’t allow me to use it since I got the discount. This is kind of annoying.

Not that is matters much now, but my B9 S5 was a tank with winter tires. It was well worth swapping winter and summer tires for the performance gains in their respective season. Also, there are some pretty cheap aftermarket rims for Audi to use during the winter.

If you are going to be putting money down, then GAP isn’t worth.
