NOT SIGNED YET 2020 Chevy Traverse LS AWD w/Blackout Package, Rims $39370k MSRP $479 $0 DAS

Hi,

Hello everyone, I’m new to this forum and leasing in general. I’m usually a lurker but this site has been very informative and I’d love your honest opinion.

I talked to a lot of dealers on similar models and the Traverse doesn’t seem to lease too well and inventory disappears fast so they don’t budget much more than 8-9% off MSRP pre-incentives. I found a nice black one with 2k rims I don’t really need but they seemed eager to do a deal. So I did this nego via text with the Edmunds Forum MF .00139 61% RV 36/12k up front, we got to 468 w/rebates (wife works for a Marriott affiliated hotel.) An hour later the guy says he can do $449, still $0 DAS. I say let’s do it. An hour later his boss calls me and says the sales guy gave me a loyalty/conquest incentive by mistake. Also I’m informed the LPOs (blackout package, black rims) didn’t arrive with the car and will take 1-2 weeks to arrive. Boss apologized, offered $479 (see attached contract) and wouldn’t budge. I accepted because my wife and I really like the car. Sales guy pressured me to come in anyway to sign at 8pm as they were closing. I did, but F&I guy was pissed about the whole situation, said he doesn’t like signing anything until it’s ready because it’s a waste of his time if it goes south. After signing everything but the contract, it was getting late and he suggested I just take photos of the contract to review and sign the next morning. I took the photos and told them this morning I’ll sign when the car is ready for delivery. Sales guy said OK and will contact me when it’s ready.

@ethanrs, what about this?

Hard pass on a poorly equipped rental car at anywhere remotely approaching this payment

@max_g FYI we prefer the massive cargo space behind the 3rd row of the Traverse, tons more than a Trailblazer, CX-9 or Pilot. The only thing close in this price range is the Atlas but I personally don’t like VWs. Anything else you’d suggest? What payment do you think you could get to? If you could send me a calculator link I’d love to see it. I really appreciate the input!

Hard to recommend anything else if you don’t like Pilot or Atlas … every other crossover is smaller than Atlas and Traverse except possibly the Buick version

Pilot with one third row seat folded sometimes plus Cargo box on roof when necessary or are we talking about carrying lots of stuff with the third row up on a daily basis?

It’s a lot of utility for the right price but without 10% and loyalty/conquest it’s a hard sell.

This sounds insanely expensive for a base model lease but if you like the vehicle and it makes sense for you go for it. I bet LT have better deals and more options on them.

Op did you check the incentives on the last vs LT. as just said they are almost always higher on the LT.

I will check on the LTs. For now I will back out of this specific deal and also take a break to see what’s available in October. Thanks for the advice everyone!
