Maybe Kevorkian?

No, I know that. My point was to look at the context.

Awesome.

For my wife, the worst part is that you cannot simultaneously access Google Maps via Apple CarPlay and control music on a single screen. She has to switch via multiple clicks.
On the bright side, the B&W system is impressive

When the Infotainment focus is not Maps, the Dashboard map view switches to what Infotainment would show, otherwise it’s the route oveview. The last 3 opened apps are in the tray below so easy to switch back. Siri is awful at everything except finding music while driving, and the CarPlay search interface isn’t very good. Making a playlist and leaving it in recents is about the best I’ve found.

At the current price point, there is nothing remotely close to the same value as the XC90 Recharge. I’ve had two X7s, a Grand Cherokee L, and an Explorer Sport and the Recharge is my favorite and the most practical family car. The ride is fantastic on the battery and decent overall on the gas engine. Never charging it certainly removes some of the appeal personally. You can technically charge it with the gas engine but the MPGs drop significantly so it defeats the purpose. Charging my 2023 was slow compared to my 4XE as it only had a 3.6 kW on board charger, which was apparently upgraded to a 6.4 kW one on the 2025 but I haven’t confirmed the speed yet.

The lack of wireless CarPlay doesn’t bother me since I’m signed into my most used apps directly in the Google OS like Maps, Waze and Spotify. One hidden gem is if you use Google Maps via the OS with the car set to hybrid, it optimizes the use of the battery based on your route (I.e uses gas on the highway).

I appreciate all the safety and driver assist features come standard unlike my X7 where adaptive cruise control was an add-on. Lastly the popup booster seat in the middle is money if you have younger kids and are carpooling.

I was never a Volvo person but it’s a perfect car for our family and you can’t beat it for under $500/month.

Does Volvo allow for lease transfers and… not in the Audi way where the original owner still assumes liability?

No they don’t. They also don’t allow trade ins unless you are leasing another Volvo

With a Volvo lease your only escape involves your checkbook - or a 6-month pull ahead into another Volvo - otherwise you are handcuffed to it until disposition. There is currently no 1st/3rd party buyouts → no trade-ins and no transfers.

I would rather learn the native operating system than plug in my phone every single time but that’s just me… plugging your phone in reminds me of plugging a device just to listen to music and we don’t do that anymore. Welcome to 2024.

Any streaming music app available for Android is in the store and can be downloaded to the head-unit and logged in as you. Car includes free cell data or you can tether it to your phone. The native Google Maps experience works perfectly, I don’t use the HUD but I understand it even works there.

Tell me more :astonished::grin:

I hate it flipping back and forth between CarPlay and the native OS due to an incoming text since I predominantly use Google Maps within the OS. Volvo was smart enough to make one of the USB-C outlets in the arm rest power only to avoid this when charging.

Gonna get hate for this but as someone who just made the switch from BMW to Volvo…the interior quality is wayyyyy better on my xc90. My only gripe is the lack of physical buttons for climate control but for the current price point I stopped caring lol. Couldnt care less about lack of wireless carplay

The butt to start doesnt annoy your Passengers when you get out?

More specifically…

When you get out, doesnt the xc90 use Butt to start like the Xc40, and when you get out all fans, radio shut off leaving your passengers in the errie quiet?

Ohh yea it does. Ill throw it in park and when I open my door it shuts off. If I have people with me i have to turn it back on. Pretty annoying tbh but whatever. Is there a way around that?

I hope someone here can answer that!
