Nissan Rogue - Good lease?

Hey everyone. So a little while back I was asking about 3-row SUVs to replace our 2015 Pathfinder lease that is up in 2 more months. Well, our situation has changed a bit and now we’re really looking to decrease our monthly a bit, but still try to get something at least remotely nice. My wife is still VERY partial to Nissan, and I am having a difficult time trying to steer her to anything else. As has been stated before, the Pathfinder now seems to be a pretty lousy lease. Looking like a new Pathfinder SL AWD, same as we have now, would probably be even more than our current payment of $400/month. So, I’m looking at the Rogue now as a possible next-best option. (I love the Murano, but as I’ve seen they lease awfully).

I still want something more than a base model. Leather, heated seats, all that kind of stuff. So looks like I’m focused on the SL AWD models. From Edmunds I found the MF is .00003, which seems pretty darn good, and the RV is 55%, also not too bad. So my question is…am I right in assuming that the Rogue is a pretty good lease option? Next is, does anyone have any experience with leasing the SL model and could this be possible to attain for around $300/month at 36/12? We’re really looking to decrease our payments by $100, so going to $300 instead of $400. And if anyone knows of another really good option, please let me know! Thanks for the help!

Get some quotes from dealers to see what they will give you discount wise. If there isn’t a nice rebate or large discounts off MSRP, the poor residual will make a good lease nearly impossible. If you’re in the NJ area get in touch with @aronchi

Unfortunately I’m nowhere close…Indiana. haha

Edmunds stated lease money is $2275 right now. Plus we qualify for the grad bonus of $500, and I get VPP through my employer.

I never did a test drive on Rogue, but based on what I heard, it’s really bad on 0-60.

Maybe take a look at 2018 VW tiguan. Someone is offering ~170 for the base model.
(SE/SEL would be much better though)

My wife had 2 Rouge SLs…the old model and the new.

The CVT transmission makes the car scream when under high throttle. It’s definitely not going to launch you onto the interstate if you need that. The car was nice, but the CVT would keep me away again.

With that said, at the time we leased, we were able to get the SL in both old and new body for 300 all in. I can’t recall what the incentives were at the time, but we did get a fairly decent dealer discount. It also helped that both were leased in March, which is Nissan/Infiniti End of year.

You’ll have to get some quotes and go from there, however. Send out feelers to multiple dealerships to see what they will offer, and bring them back here for discussion.

My wife is a pretty typical “a car is a car, A-B transportation” type of person, so 0-60 times don’t really phase her at all. (years back she owned a Nissan Cube and loved it, so just let that sink in). Our current Pathfinder has the CVT as well and it doesn’t bother her in the least. She seems to like it. It bugs the hell out of me, but, not my car. (I have an Elantra Sport that I enjoy the hell out of). So in other words, the actual performance of the car isn’t really going to be high on her priority list. She wants something comfortable and safe.

The Tiguan seems to be a great lease deal at the moment, but I was a VW guy before and the wife has made it abundantly clear that she will never own one again. So that’s out.

Another model that I see seems to lease well is the RAV4, and her mother has one that she loves, but it irritates me that Toyota doesn’t include gap in their leases and Toyotas that I have sat in before always feel really cheap inside. But maybe still one to look into?

We looked at the rogue and were kinda shocked at how abysmal it handled and how much it struggled especially compared to Toyota and Honda. There are pretty nice incentives on Alfa Romeo Stelvios and they handle beautifully. We ended up getting to Alfa’s and we got a Sign and Drive Deal through @ralphsaphony for 395. I would definitely recommend using him as our total time at the dealer was under 2 hours, which included 30 minute test drive.

The car is sporty and fun and looks super sexy. Definitely recommend over any toyota honda or nissan.

Ask your insurance company for a quote before you buy the car. They should be able to offer GAP much much cheaper than F+I does.

Try CX-5. It’s of the same price as tiguan. Top trim would be ~300/month.

Not bad for the monthly

Yeah Rogue is just cheap but offers nothing basically.

If you like the Pathfinder, why don’t you look at the Infiniti QX60? It will lease better than the Pathfinder, especially since you have access to VPP.

I looked into that option, but you can really only get those great >$400 leases with quite a few MSDs, and we just don’t have the funds to shell out thousands up front…regardless of it being refundable at the end.
