Nissan One Pay ?s

Forgive me if these questions are answered somewhere else

Nissan One Pay…

Can you sell early?

Can you sell to 3rd party?

Can you sell early with MSDs?

You can only sell to Nissan & Infiniti dealers AFAIK.

I’d expect the effective monthly after selling early to be quite brutal.

If 18 months is too long, a lease may not be right for you.

Adding a question of my own to @BHay’s list.

How easy/difficult is it to transfer a One Pay lease (eg. SAL). What does it involve?

Do you ask for a lumpsum with $0/month or does leasing company refund you prorated remaining monthly payments and then you post it as XXX/month?

You are still on the hook after a transfer F that

Like @anon65069371 said, it’s a non-starter because you remain liable for everything in the contract.

Thank you.

So does that mean leasing company does not allow an official transfer for One Pay leases?

They do
But you are still on the hook

It’s official but it’s not a transfer in the traditional sense.

They just add the next person to the contract without taking you off.

Would you add a stranger as a driver to your next rental car and watch them drive off?

Understood. And yes, if my name is still on the contract after the ‘transfer’, it’s a non-starter.

I currently have a one pay Jeep 4xe that I intend to keep for the term but wanted to educate myself on all possibilities, hence the question.

Thank you @anon65069371 and @max_g !!

The main reason a Nissan lease is attractive right now is the unrealistically high residual for an 18-month term. The exact opposite of what you’d want for a flip.
