Is this good? Can I do better? It sounds good to me. What am I missing?
Thanks!
The current Leaf thread.
thanks. I think I read the latest leaf thread. Seems like a good deal. If the add says $2500 down and exclude taxes, title and license, can I calculate the “drive off”? Using the lease calculator, I tried to back calculate: Used MSRP of $34,005 and tried to get close to the $69/month. It computed drive off as $4915. Lease hackr score of 20.5 years. Good?
should i post to larger leaf thread?
Seems like a good deal but doesn’t have quick charge package so would be good only for a 60 mile daily commute max.
too many leaf threads. make like a tree and leaf. how was that?
BTW I don’t think 60 miles per day is right. you forgot to factor range depreciation, weather, traffic (ideally stop and go), and range anxiety. 30 miles per day is probably safe.
save more money, do an ultra low mileage lease.
I think you can’t see the forest for the trees lol
How does the traffic and range depreciation go from 100 miles to 30 miles in 36 months? The battery is warrantied to be at 80% range for 8 years …
60 miles on full charge range over 3 years is actually conservative. you should be able to do up to 30% higher.
MSRP of $34k. It has the charge package. It became standard for all models in 2017 I believe.
Base is price is $30680+ $1770 QC. Anything over $32450 has QC.
I’m sure the drive off is over $5k. These low monthly payment leaf deals aren’t deals at all. They are always more expensive than min down/drive off.
Thanks for everyone’s response. My commute is less than 10 miles round trip. My current car is a 2003 Honda Accord, gets about 22 mpg city. It is still probably cheaper to keep Honda, just that it is 15 years old now.
Looks like there is no substitute for getting a deal without negotiating hard with the dealer.
I check out the related ev BlogSpot website - can I assume that “drive off” doesn’t include tax, title, registration? Thx.
EV blogspot is a joke IMO.
They copy and paste “deals” with out reading any of the fine print. So their numbers are usually just as good as advertised numbers on a dealer web site. Which is to say, terrible with little transparency.
One call to a dealer to get actual numbers and you will know what im talking about.
No need to negotiate hard on a LEAF S, there are hundreds rotting on the lot, with the next significantly upgraded generation right around the corner.
Thanks. I have no desire to purchase the car after the lease is up. Does “residual” matter then?
If determines the depreciation and thus the monthly payment.
Sorry I was basing it on a range of 80 miles and the fact that charging the battery over 80% is not recommended. Then I added in ranger depreciation and then finally range anxiety buffer. You’re right, 100 mile range with a new Leaf would yield better range at the 3 year mark.
