Nissan Leaf S Lease on Federal tax credit & NY State EV rebate

Hi hackers, I’m located in NY, looking for leasing a Nissan Leaf S. I know currently the sweet spot for leasing one is 18/10K due to the incredibly high RV. However, I leared that 18months is not qualifed for any federal or state credit (of course not otherwise likely the monthly payment is negative).
However, I’m not sure about 36 months lease. Is this qualifed for both Federal tax credit and NY state rebate plus the nissan 2100 lease cash right now?
Please share your thoughts! Thank you.

No leases, independent of term length, qualify for the federal tax credit.

Thanks. I understand me as leasee is not qualified for that. I mean if it’s 36 months lease, are the tax credit and rebate used for lease incentives?

The monthly term is irrelevant when we are talking about the federal tax credit.

The bank claims the tax credit and either chooses to pass on an equivalent incentive or not. The only way to know if to find out what incentives are being offered.

Having current, accurate information for residual value, money factor, and incentives is important in understanding your deal. As such, going directly to a source that has access to that data from the captive banks is your best option. The forums at Edmunds are where we go to get that information, as they have direct access to it from the captive banks. You’ll want to post in the model specific thread for the vehicle you’re interested in and request the most current numbers for your zip code. It is often easiest to find that thread by searching Google for “Edmunds lease” followed by the model of vehicle you’re interested in.

Alternately, you can try the Lease Program Query tool on the Leasehackr Calculator, available to Super Supporters.

Most dealerships I’ve spoken to stated Nissan will not allow pass on of federal rebate on leases. State programs are a different story as some have had success on LH putting in a lease
