Yes, plus also $2xx something for DMV registration.
Also I’ve learned that new Leafs come with $250 EVgo charging credit for 12 months. Which isn’t bad given my monthly payment😂

Friend contacted you after seeing your offers and you stated you were only doing them with a lease return
That’s correct.
I can’t seem to find any leaf inventory in the CA Bay area
Wonder if I can get one of these for free or how close to free. Further research must be conducted.
Not all dealerships have accurate inventory online. Try calling
Back of the envelope math warrants more research. Could pick up one of these for my nanny to drive our kids around. Let’s say insurance is $125/month, all-in cost could be between $250-$300 monthly. At current IRS mileage reimbursement rate of $0.585/mile, breakeven is between 425 - 500 miles per month. We can all predict the reimbursement rate will be higher next year with gas prices and inflation, so this will look better.
Texas will have different incentives and would have to work with a dealer offering sales tax credits. Definitely monitoring this one.
On calculator does the $2100 from nissan get deducted from msrp or count as taxed incentive?
Also would really prefer the plus which has a much longer range and in some states gets you a bigger tax credit
What is CHEARP? Still very confused by Section 4. Is that the CT state rebate? Which in NY is only 2000? Where is the other 2000, does Nissan have an incentive?
Also on the Leaf I have to lease from a dealer in my state since the incentives are by state?
CHEARP is the CT state rebate program for EV, hybrid and hydrogen cars on top of feds.
You can read more here CHEARP home page
And yes, you have to lease or but from in state participated dealership. I found at least one Kia dealership in my state that hasn’t signed up for that program. So buying from them even in state won’t get me a CT rebate
@aronchi, is there any limit to how much Nissan dealers can mark up MF on the LEAF deal?
$2,100 lease cash from Nissan/NMAC is an incentive. Whether it gets taxed or not depends on which state you’re in and whether your state law taxes incentives or not.
That 2100 is on the regular S or SV, is it available on the Plus?
No, you don’t. Manufacturers cannot bar you from transacting in another state. IANAA but that would probably be a violation of federal antitrust law.
Now whether state incentives are limited to in-state dealerships is another story. State incentives have nothing to do with Nissan/NMAC.
Nissan/NMAC incentives are regional, btw.
The forums at Edmunds have always been the place to get MF, RV and any lease cash.

Make a post asking for your specific model, trim, AWD/2WD, etc with your zip code and the desired lease term in months and miles.
Alternately, you can try the Lease Program Query tool on the Leasehackr Calculator, available to Super Supporters.
If @Saphire is trying to claim the NYSERDA EV rebate as a NY resident, then they would have to buy/lease from a participating NYS dealer to get that rebate. I’m sure the NYS dealers are well aware of that too, unfortunately.
and the lease has to be for 36 months…
This is true too… Kind of throws a wrinkle in any plans to go 18 months.
Yes I was trying to claim the NYSERDA EV, did not realize about the 18 months, good point @ElectricEliminator.
As for the $2100 from Nissan, according to the Edmunds forum it exists for my zip code but when you go on Nissan’s web site it only lists it automatically for the S and SV not the S and SV plus which is why I asked the question. I will need to sometimes go over 200 miles and so I would really prefer the Plus. If I cannot get both the $2100 and the $2000 from NY, then the deal is probably not for me. Although I am sure it would be a great option for someone looking for a commuter
