Nissan dealer stating Edmunds RV of 90% for Murano S is wrong?

Hi,

Was looking for a Nissan Murano and the brokers currently don’t have any 2022 in stock, unfortunately. I reached out to a few dealers while waiting and one said they won’t do 18-month leases with 0 cap cost reduction and another today told me the RV of 90% given by Edmunds for the Murano S was wrong and said it would be more to get an 18-month lease? Never had an issue with Edmunds RV before and it matches the broker I am interested in. Is this just bad salespeople? Alternatively, does anyone know a decent NY Nissan dealership to compare with?

Nissan is subsidizing the 18ms for Frontiers and Muranos and Leafs…

Guess they have a lot of them.

And see if @Clutch has any.

You expect salespeople to know finance numbers and programs?

How are you approaching the conversation with the dealer?

Also possible they are trying not to use NMAC and it’s a different bank.

Make offers. Defined as this much DAS and this monthly

Do something more than $0 DAS on these. Makes any extensions cheaper doing zero DAS.

If I I’ve learned anything from LH, it’s that most salespeople are clueless on the mechanics of a lease. Don’t bother trying to educate them.

Tell them you want the Frontier for MSRP with no markup on the MF and you want to lease through NMAC. Let them write it up however they want, when you get there work with your salesperson or finance and have them change to an 18mo. With the residual from the sheet.

Residuals are set in stone (a monthly stone) - Edmunds gets it directly from NMAC.

Unless like @jeisensc mentioned, it’s a different bank.

Or you guys aren’t on the same page about the 18 months.

I usually inquire through the website or sometimes CarGurus and with the terms and discount. I write it all out 0 cap cost reduction, money factor from Edmunds and term 18/10K, no trade in, plate transfer, I qualify for no incentives, with my phone number and finally stating I can make a deposit immediately if they agree to X% off msrp. Going forward I will email the sales manager thanks for the tips.

Thanks, I sent them a message.

Annoyingly often I’ll get we don’t disclose quotes except once you are here and some said without running a credit app they wouldn’t which is BS. The ones that were only a little lazy would say their sales manager told me X or Y would be the monthly payment and wouldn’t provide any other info. Yes one salesperson didn’t understand 0 cap cost reduction which is when I realized wow they are hopeless.

Didn’t think of this, maybe that is the reason. I’ll send direct requests for a deal with the bank listed.

No need to mention MF.

Not sure whether you have researched what a reasonable % off discount is for a Murano.

SM might refer you to someone else. However, if they respond, make them an offer (based on your research).

Always know your numbers. The LH calculator is your friend.

You’re making it way too complicated

Thanks for the tip!

What’s the bare minimum you’d suggest?
