Nissan Ariya lease ending in Oct, what should I get next?

,

I am based out of MN and had a reasonable $365 Ariya Platinum lease that is expiring in mid-october 2025.

What are my best options? To keep it around that price or lower for a compact SUV?

Equinox, Prologue come to mind..I’m open to pretty much anything and want to know your opinion on when to make a deal? With September 30th EV credits expiring, is taking it to the 30th , quarter end going to be too late?

What other things should I consider?

I was able to get my cousin a nice $5700 25/10 onepay on a Prologue Touring FWD with a $53K MSRP , so am a bit versed with how to go about deals. This was in TX, MN market kind of sucks!

Your opinion and help in pointing me in the right direction is appreciated :+1:

Thanks :folded_hands:

We have all sorts of data points in the LH Marketplace and Signed sections to provide a good idea of what is possible.

Personally I wouldn’t press it to 9/30….you and thousands of others will be showing interest in the last orange base model vehicle they have on the lot that qualifies b/c it’s 09/30. If it was me and I saw something compelling I’d make a deal on it between next week and 09/15.

I am in a similar boat…but my Ariya lease ends on 10/1. I have been trying to see what similar EV SUVs are good deals out there…Prologue seems to be still good…also ID4 and maybe ugly bz4x…I would consider leasing 2025 Ariya again but Nissan does not seem to have any good lease offers.

Is there any benefit getting cars shipped from say Texas? Or NYC, CA?? How does that work? Is there a guide and cost benefit analysis??

Thanks in advance!

From a tax calculation, tax credit and rebates perspective there’s no benefit.

The best target right now is the Ioniq 5

What does this mean?? Can’t I buy the car in Texas with whatever their market is and registration in MN?

I have both ID4 and Arya. Test drive ID4 before you get it if you consider it. It rides differently than Arya. My wife loves Arya and it drives softer and ID4. So I like the feel of ID4 more.

One most annoying thing about ID4 that i could not find a solution for yet is it doesn’t stay on when driver leaves! It’s soooooooo anonoying when you need to get out to grab something and have people in the car and it just shuts down. Whoever thought of that should be fired.

Also, ID4 doesn’t have access to Tesla network while Arya seems to have starting this year. Havent used but something to keep in mind.

On the other hand ID4 has crispier central dispaly while Arya looks like 800x600 resolution out of last century.

You can, but taxes will be calculated based on the MN registration.

Most dealers in CA don’t do out of state lease deals- esp on aggressive ones.

There’s never been a case that I’ve heard of where LHrs were trying to source a deal from NYC. NY state doesn’t even allow MSDs.

Explain to me like a 5th grader what it means for example to lease in Texas and ship it to MN.

It is the same as buying from your local dealer + shipping costs.

What about taxes? Texas is ~6.75 vs MN is ~7.75

Do I have to return the car to the original Texas location?

As Andre mentioned you pay taxes based on the state / county you register the vehicle, not where the dealer is located.

No, you can return the car to any dealer of that brand. Meaning a Nissan dealer in MN should take a lease return on a vehicle originally leased in another state.

Thanks for the explanation, in summary. If the sum total of the deal that I can make out of state + shipping is lower than what I can get in MN then it is a good idea to buy out of state?? Agree? Any other Gotcha??

getting the prologue?

If I could get relatively close either percentage wise or on a 24/10 lease within say $450 to grab one local vs dealing with out of state and shipping, I’d most likely go local.

A dealer in TX has very little experience doing a MN deal so getting the registration exactly right the first time may not happen. IMO it has about a 95% chance of being right and a 5% chance that you’re going to jump through some hoops or have to re-do some paperwork.

Don’t know yet, it is a candidate for sure!

Talked to Chevy and Prologue both are trash talking me..Chevy more so…12k onepay for 24/10 on an LT2 /AWD… WTH!!
Prologue is a bit better…$8k for Touring/AWD

Both trash in my book! What’s next step here? Maybe I’m barking up the wrong trees.

8k for prologue is a terrible deal? what is reasonable then?
