Newbie lease deal evaluation (Mazda 6 Touring)

Hi, first time leasing a car – thank you to everyone on this forum who have taught me a ton in a short time! Wondering if folks can let me know how the below lease looks - a Mazda 6 touring with premium package coming out at $288/month post tax in Los Angeles, 0 down. I confess I can’t quite get the breakdown of numbers below to match 288/month in the lease calculator, so think I may be missing something. Dealer has been very responsive and seems honest, and claims this is their rock bottom pricing though I was hoping for a bit bigger discount on the MSRP.

Trying to decide between this or going for the Volt deals everyone is jumping on around here this month.

2017.5 Mazda 6 Touring (with Bose/Moonroof and Touring Premium Package)

36 months / 12k miles
MSRP: $28,885
Selling price: $25,911
MF: 0.00001
Residual: 46% (13,287.10)
Cash down: $0
Los Angeles tax rate: 9.5%
Taxes: $1264.75
Government fees: $419.75
Acquisition fee: $595
Doc fee: $80

Drive off fee is first months payment plus plate fees (~$800)

Monthly payment = $288 per month (tax included)

Is this I Touring or Grand?

Just touring, not grand touring. Thanks.

In my opinion that’s way too much. I was going to direct you to the edmunds forum but I see you were already there. The selling price is too high. Even truecar is at an average of $23k for that model and same options. I would offer $20k. The 2018 model comes out soon (could even be before the end of March) so the dealer(s) should be agressive. If not, I’d wait for the 2018 to come out. Even though they may not discount it as much, the residual should be set at a higher percentage so it’s basically a trade off so you’d be getting a 2018for the same payment. Or else when the 2018 comes out the dealer should be even more agressive with the 2017.5. If the dealer does agree to discount the 2017.5 to say $20 or $21k, I’d still run those numbers by the guys at edmunds to make sure the dealer doesn’t inflate the numbers somewhere else. Just my $.02.

I started looking at Mazda 6 leases yesterday. Looking at 2018 Mazda6 Touring.
Dealer’s first offer with $1K down is $313. He’s showing @24,230 with a residual of 15,156.
So…
What would a better lease price be? What would be reasonable? Does anyone have the numbers for the 2018 model?
On a related note, I test drove both the Camry and Sonata, which are a little less lux but are perfectly good cars. Would I do better to lease one of those instead? Thoughts on the merits?
Thanks for all your help.
