I’m not sure if this is the right place for this post, so feel free to tell me to kick rocks, or move it if there’s a better spot for this. First time prospective lessee here. I am in the Air Force and we just Moved to DE. I am hoping to lease an EQB in the next 30 days. Does DE get lease promotions worth anything, or is there a better state in the region to lease in. I’d be happy to go to PA, NJ, MD, or NY. Which state would be the best, and how would I go about opening a conversation with a dealer? What sort of monthly payment should I be looking for?
There are many things to consider. Start with looking at the marketplace deals and signed deals sections to help you put together an offer which you will send to the sales managers at several dealers via email. Make sure you know what rebates /dealers cash/ incentives are currently being offered. Check Edmunds or become a paid supporter here for access to the rate finder .Dealer inventory and population density are higher in the DC/ Maryland/NY/NJ areas so you will probably find these dealers are more willing to accept more aggressive offers. The nice thing about registering your vehicle in Delaware is that they charge a lower tax rate compared to the surrounding states. They don’t call it a tax but it is 4.25% of sales price. So otherwise comparable deals should result in lower payments for you being a Delaware resident.
Since you’re new to leasing, I just sent you my leasing basics sheet. It will help you understand some of the terms and how to put an email together to send to dealers.
The location of the dealer doesn’t change the state rebates you qualify for
Why the EQB? People here are only getting it because it’s cheap for them but won’t be cheap for you as you’re taxed on the selling price.
Having Sam’s Club membership will qualify you for $7,500 fleet.
Yes, it will be almost the same as NY 8.375% tax.
