There was a run in the Jan/Feb timeframe where people were getting 11-14% off on 2025s, especially loaners. I got 11.x using Feb programs and incentives at the first dealer I tried 20 minutes from home.
I don’t think it’s quite as good now, but most of the comments from people saying that LYRIQs are expensive / outrageous are just asking for quotes, which is the second worst possible way to shop… right behind pointing to a car and saying, “I’ll take that one. We’ll figure out the money part when I get to the finance office.”
The one above is a 12.3% discount but was an event car and doesn’t get loaner money. 25’s got tight - I had the 25 in erie PA at 1k 450 in may but was aiming lower (1k- 385) in May. The 25 in Richmond VA was sold but buyer got declined by bank, and would not go below 1k DAS 500 this month. The Buffalo want 1k das and 570 for the remaining 2025 sport 1.
I’m glad we acted when we did, even though our leases overlapped more than I would have liked.
My spouse is even more absurdly frugal than I am (especially with cars), and I was having night tremors over the thought of waiting too long and ending up with a Hyundai or a Mazda because that’s all that fit into the imaginary payment constraints.
(We’ve been sharing one car since I realized I’d only put 900 miles on mine in 12 months, and then promptly sold it.)
I am surprised GM is still offering such high residuals on their EVs. This is still close to what they were offering when there was the $7500 EV tax credit. I guess they make it up with the MF.
Even by the time you do find it, and I’m sure it’s there somewhere. The time you may expend and then shipping or travel will push that true effective cost up on quickly in you. Sub 6500 a year for a, imo, practical and cool car is not bad at all.
