New Lease - Yes or No? (2018 Subaru Impreza)

Hey,

I went to the Subaru dealer today and this is what they offered:

2018 Subaru Impreza 2.0i (CVT) 4dr Hatchback:

-$205-210/month with first month payment down
-Money Factor (Tier 1 Credit) = 0.00115
-North Carolina

They are only discounting $1,037 off MSRP. Doesn’t this seem low for a 2018 model? This does not include the $1,000 rebates that were separate. In fact, I haven’t told them about the $500 ambassador rebate yet. I counter offered asking them to bring up the MSRP discount to $2,000 and include the subaru maintenance program which means they pay for any maintenance including oil changes and rotations. I think that’s feasible. Thoughts?

So they are selling at invoice? You should get $1,500 off more (at least try). Also, why would you need free maintenance if you may be returning the car in 6 month, before your first service? And, like I told you before - get one with eyesight :slightly_smiling_face:

Might be worthwhile to take that quote to a different Subaru dealership in your area and see if they can beat it. With how low the starting MSRP of the vehicle is, there might not be a whole lot of wiggle room since they are already at invoice.

Also, thank you for your service.

Yeah, i’ll try and i’ll let you know. If this somehow doesn’t work I will definitely consider the 2019 Impreza with Eyesight because the base option can get eyesight for only $825.00. That’s definitely worth it considering all the features it comes with.

Good idea. Not many 2018 Impreza base models left to be honest.

I appreciate your thanks! I’m grateful that so many american companies give discount to us… can’t take that for granted.

I leased it today! They increased the discount to $1437 (they said it was a net loss of $600 dollars for them but that’s probably just sales talk). They also honored the additional $500 rebate from Subaru Ambassador.

Came out to $207/month with first month down. I’m happy.

Thanks for all the help especially @Ursus

After doing 15-20 hours of research the last two weeks I have read Subaru then Fords offer the best option.

“Car manufacturers continue to lack transparency when it comes to leasing offers, with the average one receiving a WalletHub Transparency Score of 4.3 out of 10. The most transparent manufacturers currently include Mini, BMW, Mercedes, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Audi, Hyundai, but even they registered only a 6-point rating.
*Kia, Mazda, Ford, Infiniti, Subaru, Dodge, Mini offer the lowest financing rates among the major car manufacturers surveyed by WalletHub. Subaru, Toyota, Infiniti, Ford, Acura, Volkswagen, Mercedes have the best leasing offers.”
