I’ve never leased anything, but it seems like the best option. I average around 10-11k/year and tend to only keep a car for 3 or 4 years max anyway. I got in an accident Friday and waiting to talk to the adjuster, I’m pretty sure it’s totaled, so I’ll most likely need something quick. I haven’t actually picked what I want next, but it’ll be a small SUV, Equinox and CR-V are at the top of my list.
I saw a couple of deals on some different dealer websites, near me in Ohio. They sound good, but I don’t know what I would qualify for and don’t want to sound completely ignorant when I go in.
Current issues I can think of are my credit is only 700, won’t have a car to trade in, and won’t be able to come up with much of a down payment/out of pocket.
Anyway, I guess I’m just wondering where to even start. If I should narrow down the model(s) that I like or try finding best pricing or what to do.
An Encore or Trax will be a good choice and they have Apple car play /Android auto. Old style Equinox is probably the longest running and oldest tech out there for affordable suvs.
@BoardWalkNJ - 1. that’s why I’m here I’ve heard it both ways about down payments being good and bad. I would never put a large payment down though.
2. I was seeing that, but hoped there was some hidden deal
3. Rav4 is in consideration, staying away from Hyundai and Kia as that’s what our last 2 were and need a change
@adamcar - Are you saying that’s good or bad about the old style Equinox? I like the '18’s but the '17’s seem like such a better deal. The Encore/Trax would be too small, but thank you for another option.
A dealer one time mentioned that there’s a big difference between a $0 down and $1 down, when I asked him to elaborate he only said “They’re different” and went on to the next topic. So what is the difference as I see them both ways a lot?
To go along with that, I see some that are 0 out the door, but most seem to need tax, title, docs, etc. Does all that just get rolled into the monthly payment?
Sorry for the newb-ness, but we all have to start somewhere, right?
I have to wait at least 2 more days before the adjuster can look at our wreck. In the mean time we’ve been looking a little. We’re really liking the looks and features of the 18 Equinox LT but haven’t sat in one yet. Unfortunately, the best advertised deal I’m finding is $215/mo
Is that $215/mo all-in, no money down? Usually the ads say a monthly then the fine print shows “$3k due at signing” which means the true monthly is more like $300ish.
The Nissan Rogue is still a good lease. They have just launched the 2017.5 version which comes as standard with loads of safety features such as automatic collision detection and breaking. I just picked one up last week, an SV with Family pack for a friend for $250 a month with standard drive offs. Great to have 7 seats for the odd occasion.
Great another option for extra safety features. Was going to entertain Toyota first. Any others cars manufacturers have automatic collision/breaking systems in the base model like Toyota and the one step up for Nissan.
Hey guys I’m pretty new to this forum and I’m looking for basically the same thing the person who posted this is. A small SUV at a good rate. I just came across this ad for a 2017 Jeep Patriot
I plan on jumping on it and maybe hoping to work some number to get an outrageous deal. Hopefully this helps your search and if someone experienced could give some insight on that lease deal. I have no clue what the MF they’re using is but it looks like a solid deal already to me? Right or wrong ?
I’m new as well. My first lease expires June 25th. I live in Texas and looking for the same, small SUV. Does anyone know of good lease deals? Thanks in advance for any insights!
