Did you guys see the new RX. It’s expected to go on sale towards the end of the year. Looks pretty good to me.
There’s also new PHEV trim RX 500h.

Exterior looks similar to what it was now, interior looks too heavily toyota…i do like the hybrid/plug-in options
Not sure about the weird nose/hood bump, but doesn’t really matter since it’ll sell like hotcakes to the realtor/soccer mom market.
That schnoz though.
Looks like the outgoing car but with a worse front end. Interior is nice, looks the same as NX.
Front end makes me think the Lamborghini Urus had a fling with a Genesis GV70.
Shocking the rx500h is a 4cyl. 367hp is nice though.
can confirm…my realtor and the sellers realtor both have one
My realtor also has one. She told me it’s because the RX is both comfortable to drive around in + the back can fit her large signs.
We have an RX and I love being a passenger in it. Not crazy about driving it. That’s why we went from being a 2 RX household to 1 after a year of ownership. I hope the 500h has a little more pick up although if it’s available only in F sport the seats may be uncomfortable.
Made me think of the Bangle butt applied to the front. Which is not something the world had asked for, IMHO… (although maybe better for pedestrian safety?)
CX5 with a shitty front clip
Bangle nose! Trademark time
More like Banged-up nose.
Agreed…a Mazyota.

The new 2023 looks great. Note that it is a four (4) cylinder with the turbo and will require premium fuel. The 2022 RX is not a turbo. It is a naturally aspirated six cylinder. If I was to purchase an RX this year with the intention of keeping it for many years to come, the 2022 6 cylinder will be more durable and easier to maintain than the 2023 RX. On the other hand, if a 3 year lease is in your plans, then it matter not which one you pick.
I’m also a bit concerned about the 4 cylinders. Not sure if it will offer adequate power. There’s a good chance we will get one for my significant other as she doesn’t care about acceleration. I’m intrigued by the 500h but I suspect it will be priced too high for what it is.
275hp is more than enough for a midsize luxury SUV. Volvo has been using turbo and turbo/supercharged 4s since 2016 in the XC90 which is much bigger and heavier than an RX. RX will still have plenty of pep. RX450h+ is intriguing but I love my XC60 T8. Still might consider one though
I 100% agree.
Defender 4cyl has 300 hp, it’s more than adequate. Inline 6 has 400.
Volvo XC90 has 250 in the old T5 (meh, but it’s ‘enough’), T6 has 300 (feels better), my V60CC is 700lbs ish lighter than most XC90s and with the T5 at 245ish it’ll do what it needs to.
I have a strong suspicion the new RX will be adequate with a 275hp 4cyl. That nose though
The 4 cylinder vs 6 cylinder debate is pretty simple, if your only concern is NVH or the stigma of a 4 cylinder in a luxury compact-midsize CUV (RX is a weird size since it straddles the space between both), the 4 cylinder will remind you how terrible a decision it was for the majority of ownership.
If the idea is cost, which I assume is the main purpose of these new 4 cylinder base non hybrid variants, as long as they lease or finance good, Lexus is in a good spot.
On the technical side, Lexus had basically given up perfecting ICE engines in the RX since the 3rd generation launched the outgoing v6. Their entire focus has been perfecting HEVs powertrain packages. I expect the RX hybrid to have a similar waiting list and ADMs to their current NX-H and PHEVs.
Lastly…
That nose though
