Negotiating an Audi Q5 P+

Hi, new to leasing here.
Negotiated a new 2018 Summer of Audi Q5 for my mom and I think I got a generally good deal, but I have a feeling I can do better. I hope I can get some feedback/advice/tips/suggestions before I sign off on the deal.
Based in NJ; attached a picture of the purchase order.

The car has a sticker price of $51,500 with these terms
$480/month
36 months
7.5k miles/year
4,000 out-of-pocket (drive-off I believe)

Car Details:
White Exterior/Black Interior
Season of Audi Technology Package (essentially the navigation package)
Premium Plus Package
B/O Speakers
Audi Ring Beams
Cold Weather Package
Cargo Cover
Audi All Weather Floor Mats
20" Wheel Package

4k out of pocket is bad. Best not to put that much money down as if anything happens to the car you won’t see that money.

Happy to take a look but you need to post the actual breakdown of the deal sheet. What is the sales price? What are the drive off fees? Etc

The most immediate things would be this dealer is packing in $400 or so in BS add ons like vin etching and nitro tires. Also as already noted, $4k due at signing is very likely including some cash down, find out what that figure consists of.

More like $800 in BS. $350 for the nitro and etching, and $450 in dealer fees. And that’s before we even know: (1) what sort of discount they gave on the sales price, if any; and (2) whether the MF is marked up.

Can I just simply ask the dealer for a price breakdown? How should I approach this from my position?
Thank you.
Also, I was told nitro tires are necessary for some vehicles
Edit: Dealer said I would just pay 4,000 and get the car, the $800 due at delivery is either within the drive-off or not paid by me

Yea just ask for the deal sheet with all of the details: msrp, sales price, incentives included, the drive off fees and what then the remainder of that $4k represents in terms of cap cost reduction. The Summer of Audi promotion is going on so any dealer will pay your first months payment up to $800, that’s not special.

With that said, given the lame dealer add ons, the lie that the tires need the nitrous etc I think you are not likely to get very far with these guys. Consider gathering quotes from other dealers and don’t put your eggs in just this one basket.

Like @Siejammy said, I would not rely on this dealer/salesperson as they’re telling you blatant lies regarding the Nitrogen fill. Compare the quote you got with other dealers and try and go elsewhere.

Thanks man
What would you consider to be an “optimal deal” for this car?
Also, is it better to say pay $550/month with 0 DAS? I wonder if increasing the monthly will decrease total payments in all.

Tell them you have your own special gas blend that you fill your tires with that’s 78% nitrogen - it’s called AIR.

Make sure they top off the blinker fluid too. You know they’re a stand up dealer when the etch is preprinted on the buyers order.

You should shoot for $480/mo, 36/12, $2000 drive off

I’m at dinner with my wife and I legit almost just spat my drink out

Audi leases are rough and the Q5 even more so. On a $51k unit you’re probably looking at low/mid $500s with normal drive off fees around $2k. One way you can improve Audi deals are with MSDs so look into that as well.

Wife lets you reply to forum at dinner. Is there such a thing?

Do you have advice on navigating MSDs with a dealer?

Tell the dealership you’d like to start with base money factor and buy it down with multiple security deposits. If the sales guy you are working with doesn’t know about them, ask to have them check with someone in finance.

Forum member SG25 just got 15% off a new Q5 in Chicago. Hit him up for details.
