Negotiate new car price when dealer doesn't have the car on lot

Hello all,
I’m so glad I found this website!
I have a basic question- is it make sense or even possible to negotiate a new car price when the dealer doesn’t have the car on his lot?

For example- 2024 BMW I4 eDrive35- MSRP 54,400. Dealer says it can be delivered in 1-2 months. Is it make sense still to negotiate the MSRP price if the car is not in dealer possession?

Thanks

You absolutely can and should negotiate it now.

To add to this, BMW allows you to look in the incentives at time of order so you can lock in a specific set of terms. You also have the option to take later incentives at the time of delivery if they work out to be better. But the most important thing is you should negotiate everything before you order.

You can negotiate before they get the car.

Just please note , they do not have to sell you the car if they get a better offer when it arrives.
Special orders are tricky.

Putting a deposit down on the incoming order is a good way to mitigate that risk. Is it a 100% solution? No, but it’s a lot better than just saying “well, let me know when it’s here!”

This! remember just like a customer can cancel an order a dealer can too!

How about European delivery or PCD cars, have they moved on from the here what you get keep it stepping if not MO?

Any tips or do’s and don’t in order to get the best “one pay lease” deal?

Please search the forum first, and keep any remaining questions in one single thread. Thanks

No difference from a monthly lease. The payment is just an output once you’ve got the rest of the deal optimized. You don’t have more or less leverage on the parts of the deal that matter.
