Just Came back from a Dealership Looking into a 2017 Tiguan S. Very shady dealing I asked directly for the money factor / APR. The guy acted like he didn’t know what i was talking about and asked if i wanted to finance the car. I would ask for direct numbers like sticker price they would just keep referring to the monthly price I would pay saying “it’s all in there” pretty shittty to be honest. Anyways here’s the ‘deal’ they offered me
$1000 Down
36 months
15k a year
MSRP 28,155
The price they said they were quoting me for 24,850
They said Money factor was at 1%
362.00 a month
The sales price is good. You need the residual value so we can calculate the payments. With 49% residual, 0.00001 MF and 1k down (values from Edmunds), your payment should be under 300 without tax

How did I do?
It was my first lease negotiation I probably could have done some things differently but I have more experience and will go into my next lease better informed. Currently I have my Father’s old 2014 SE w/Appearance. The Wolfsburg seems to be a little bit less 17’’ wheels, no fog lights. I didn’t really think the sport was worth considering because I’m on a bit of a budget. Also is do you have to have service done at the dealership you bought the car? Or can I go anywhere if I keep my receipts? I tried to negotiate 3 year service but they wanted 425 more upfront didn’t seem like it was worth the cost especially since VW charges 88 dollars for an oil change.
