Good Morning Hackrs,

I got this offer for a 2021 GV80 AWD 2.5T in Savile Silver and wanted to run it past you all:

2021 GV80 AWD 2.5T List Price $56,195
Just standard features (which are plentiful, but no additional packages)
36/10k
$659/months
$4659 DAS + DMV Fees (which are $65 or so)

I didn’t get a full financing sheet as I didn’t want to imply i was in, but doesn’t sound like a crazy offer given where we are in the market.

I also got offered a Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury demo lease with 1,000 miles on it for $759 with $3796 DAS. That vehicle has a sticker of $59,525 and is stock + the navigation and is 39/10k

Do not put down so much on a lease. Roll it into payments. If you drive off the lot and total the car that money is gone.

One thought experiment worth conducting these days is to assume this is the new normal. Banks are fully aware of just how much consumers are willing to pay to lease cars. Now that that cat is out of the bag, it’s not going back any time soon.

So compare the total cost of:

(A) doing 2 of these leases over the next 6 years.

Versus

(B) buying the car and extending the warranty to 6 years.
