Need feedback on first lease offer

I just received this offer in zip code 14850:
New 2022 Nissan Versa SV, $500 due at signing, $449/month for 24 months, 10k mi/yr.

This is the lowest monthly payment they will offer without a larger down payment. I think this is pretty steep, but the dealership says that’s because I’ve never had my own car before and my oldest line of credit, while great, is still new.

I need a car ASAP, but want to make sure I am getting the best deal. Any feedback would be very welcome and appreciated :).

Run far and fast. You’re going to pay about 11k in payments for a car that is about 15k brand new.

  1. There are so many good deals in this forum, ask a help from broker could save you tons of money in your position.
  2. Do not try Nissan, and do not try versa. It’s junk.

Any suggestions on how to find good brokers on here? The few I have met on here have only had higher trims that I cannot afford

@Jrouleau426 has done a car for me and has a done a few cars for friends…

Do not expect but try. Easier than dealership experience. LOL.
They have several forte units at this price.
I used to try Rodo several times, i agree with mixed results. But trying cost nothing.

I sell Toyota and Kia. Lmk your zip also

There seem to be some misconceptions around what leasing is and who benefits from leasing.

The people who benefited most from leasing were those who were going to drive brand new BMWs, Mercedes, etc anyway and found leasing as a way to lower their TCO (total cost of ownership).

They could do so because they had the cash to put down MSD, had loyalty from prior ownership, or had corp/fleet from working at a select list of companies, knew about OL codes and had bought CCA membership, etc etc.

Leasing also benefited people who wanted … let’s call them toys for lack of a better word and again had the financial security to easily afford the overlapping monthly payments and insurance coverage on those extra cars. People who could pick up a Camaro V8 on a whim, an extra Mini to toss around, maybe even a Jaguar F-type.

Leasing rarely offers a value proposition to people outside of those scenarios.

actually, leasing offers far more than this. if someone puts on 20k+ miles / year, leasing is always a far better option than buying. you stick the bank with the depreciation (and possibly any diminished value from accidents), while paying off a fraction of the car. it’s not just about access - leasing has utility.

We’d have to see the numbers. But the point remains: there are obviously certain use-cases where it’s advantageous to lease.

A 20,000+ mile/year use-case is not particularly relevant to someone who asked about a 10k/yr lease.

Toyota or honda would be better options, instead of leasing, financing is also a good option with promotional interest.

Also, and I keep beating on this, but learn how to use the calculator because then you will understand better how the payments come together. Do not buy on payment amount as tons of variables go into making that number up…learn the calc!!!

Is there a specific reason as to why you’re leasing and not purchasing a Nissan Versa?
