Hello All,
I am negotiating a 36 Month lease for a Ford F-150 XL with STX appearance package, first offer detail below. I am curious what you think about this first offer. They are insisting on including the property tax, which is throwing me off a bit. I asked them to provide MF and Residual. Thanks

That was my lease deal you posted above. The discount does look a little lean if it includes all rebates, though hard to say without knowing what region you are in. Here’s a couple thoughts, you are missing out on the “Eco” Rebate with the 5.0 engine option and Nav Rebate. Since the RV is based of “Top Line” MSRP and not (Lower) “Blue Box” MSRP it does affect the RV Ratio a bit compared to my deal (In a Negative way). I would start with this as a way to analyze this deal, go to the Ford website, build this exact truck. On the final page enter in your Zip code, then click the Lease Tab. It will then give you a break down of all the Factory Incentives you are eligible for in your zone (Click the little “?” icon for a breakdown of each rebate). Then head over to the Edmunds 2018 F150 Lease Forum, ask for the MF and RV for your Zone. Also ask for the XLT numbers, it’s possible XLT’s numbers might be better. You should be shooting for rite around $2-500 under Invoice, Minus all incentives you are eligible for. Incentives very widely depending on where you are located, engine choice, and package rebates, some locations this month are as low as $1500 and as high as nearly $5000. And I’m not familiar with that Property Tax thing, is that some weird fleece tax in your particular state? My opinion, looks like a good deal, not a great one. On a 12k a year STX, I personally would be shooting for around $1500 in total Drive off’s and a total after tax payment in the $350-365 range. By the way, love the STX Trim, everything you need, nothing you don’t. If I were to buy a truck, not Lease, it would be a STX 5.0 Screw. But XLT “Eco’s” just end up leasing better. Here if I can help!
The previous deal you posted (even though it had a higher MSRP) was about 20% off. That would require another $3k off your deal. I don’t know if they have that room or now, but that extra $3k is $125/mo.
You also extended your term so that will affect the RV. You are at the same payment and drive off that you are looking to match, but on a truck that is $6k cheaper.
I get what you are saying. Xbeatz deal was for the XTL trim and the one offered to me is the XL, STX package. So, it could be better. I am going to follow Xbeatz instructions above and see what happens.
One other thing I should mention. I would also consider a 10.5k mile lease even if you drive around 12K. The cost break down on my particular lease, if I end up driving 12K (which I likely will if go full term, and knew it going in), the total cost of overages will be $750 (.25 cents a mile). Had I I signed a 12k lease at start with the lower Residual my total extra out of pocket would have been $525. Yes, I would have saved $225, but in the off chance I total it, don’t end up using the miles, or Ford offers a “Early Bird”, I save $525 (more than one entire Lease Payment of 24). And from experience on our last 2 Ford Lease turn-ins, both times they forgave $250 & $275 off our overage mileage totals on those leases with a simple call to Ford Credit. (Unofficially a Rep said they have around $250 wiggle room to offer customers with mileage or damages). So it was a fairly easy, and cost effective choice to go with 10.5k.
By the way, I love the Ecoboost 2.6L. My brother in law juts bought a 2017 used one and it is really good. I am just chasing the bigger discount in this area and also love the look of the STX.
Yep, Wow, those are the numbers here in my Zone as well. Hadn’t checked them for April yet, so looks like the XL/STX’s are the Ford Lease Trucks this month. That does not happen often, and the first time I have seen such Generous offers on those trims over the last year and half I have been watching F150 numbers. Great Incentives, you are missing out on the $300 “Eco” Incentive with that STX, but it’s only a few bucks a month, and if its a truck you like I say go for it, I wish I had, love the 5.0. Only thing left, they have to do some more slashing on that Dealer Discount.
There is a Single Cab 4x4 STX at my local Dealer I have been keeping my eye on, in the same “Lightning Blue” as my Screw. Was just playing around with these April numbers, if pushed really hard that truck could be leased in the high $100’s low $200’s. Tempting, wish I was single, would be driving around in that in a heartbeat. I already told my dealer if the price ever hits $24k or less, call me. I’ll buy it just to play around with.
Like others have said push for a bigger discount, what a difference state taxes makes, 450 in most states puts you in lariat territory (55k msrp), on the XL supercrew ideally before taxes you should be low 3s (310ish) with a reasonable discount.
For what it’s worth- I grew up in Michigan. Naturally with Dearborn/Detroit being home to the Big 3 (or so it used to be called) most people have a family member with employee/retiree (A/Z plan) purchase capability, or at least a friend who can give them Friends and Family (X plan)- Anyhow, since most deals are done at employee/FF pricing, it stands to reason that many of the dealerships publish employee pricing on their websites and if not, the salesman will usually happily go grab the vehicle invoice and show you plan pricing. When I’ve asked for the invoice here in Florida, the sales manager usually comes out and wants to see evidence of entitlement before they’ll disclose. Now it isn’t concrete, but what I usually do is find a vehicle I’m interested in and note key features and MSRP, then go search the Metro Detroit dealer sites for a comparable vehicle and make a note of the A plan price listed there…F&F X-plan is sometimes listed also… so at least you have a ballpark figure to aim for. If my memory serves me right, Ford A/Z plan is somewhere in the neighborhood of 6% below invoice. Don’t forget A plan pricing is before any rebates offered- on your ~45K truck, employee will be in the neighborhood of 38K before incentives. Here are a couple dealers with pricing posted- hope it helps. Good Luck!

Just wanted to give an update. The F-150 XL-STX that I wanted was sold the weekend before I decided to move forward with it. Turned out to be a good thing because it was a 6.5 FT box, Crew Cab: which includes 2-Piece Drive Shaft responsible for a ton of cabin vibrations. The web is full of customers reviews about the issue, with some returning the truck or selling it. Having said that, I changed my search to an XLT, 5.5 Ft BOX, Crew Cab, which have the 1-Piece Drive Shaft (free of vibrations issues). And ended up signing on this deal:
2018 Ford-XLT, Sport Package, and 302A package.
