I ordered a BMW 340i that doesnt seem like it will be delivered until July. I honestly cannot wait until then so I’m going to end up canceling the order. Any ideas on what I should get now that I have a little freedom back to choose?
Not many other options out there that will be less than $650 a month & AWD. Hellcat is the only other sub $650 sedan that comes to mind but it’s RWD.
The Infiniti Q50 Red Sport is your answer. I just got a RWD one for $365/mo (including 8.75% tax), and it’s good for 0-60 in 4.4-4.5 seconds. The AWD version isn’t much more costly and should trim 2-3 tenths with the extra traction to get the power to the road.
It’s a bit of a sleeper - no big design cues to differentiate it from other Q50s and the exhaust note is very understated (you can get a Sport exhaust kit from Infiniti for $900ish installed), but it’s the best motor in the class. Other offerings in the class have better transmissions so it ends up being nearly a wash, but it’s a good car and a great deal.
Even though AWD is faster, I recommend RWD - it’s a hell of a lot of fun to shake the rear end a little (or a lot) loose whenever you feel like it. You just can’t do that in an AWD car the same way. Puts a smile on my face every time in a way that I rarely experienced in the 2013 Audi S4 that I owned for a few years (despite very similar performance numbers). Go give it a test drive.
Why not just find a 340i that is in stock. I agree the Q50 is probably your ONLY bet.
I drove the Red sport (My friend has one) and I didnt fall in love with it. It was definetly fast as hell lol but It just didnt have that same feeling as the BMW or Audi I drove. Also, I want AWD because of how much snow we get in the NE. If I am going back to RWD I might as well just get my camaro again or something crazy like that lol.
The 340I I had was ordered because it had, options that I wanted that noone actually orders…
Track handling package, MPPSK Port installed. and no cold weather package, crap like that.
STI …20 characters
You don’t have many other options, maybe a 4 series
This is depressing…
Finance a Golf R. (ducks)
What about a Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC?
I like all the options you are all coming up with. I do appreicate it.
I don’t want anything with 4 cylinders so the Golf/STI/S3 are all out.
Audi S4 is probably going to be out of my price range.
C43 is kind of ugly no? Also probably out of my price range?

From reverse calculating that, looks like a 60% residual for 36/10K and .00124 MF. Sub $650/month and $0 down plus drive-offs and MSD should be doable… at least in California.
I gotta go look at the options but at 52k for about the same price as the same 63k BMW I have ordered doesnt seem too enticing.
Here are a few bmws that ive found:
440i xdrive base with track handling
340i xdrive with M Performance and Track Handling, same msrp as the one you ordered
@pr3dict I hear you. Despite similar performance numbers on paper these are all fairly different cars. If the Red Sport isn’t up your alley, I think a 340ix with a little different option loadout is your best bet if you need something sooner. If those rare options are that important to you, ask yourself if they are offered on other cars in the class that you can get sooner. My guess is probably not. May have to wait it out.
@michael that ad was $539/mo + $3,800 cap cost reduction. With CA tax I show that as just over $700/mo (probably more since financing would then apply to the CCR). It is under $650 before tax, but that’s gonna be a pretty bare bones car.
I like the C43
Not the best when it comes to leasing, but the Golf R and Audi S3 should be in that range. I know an ECU and DSG tune from United Motorsports can easily shorten the sprint to 60.
Can you share your numbers and packages on the car? I’m in the market…
If you want a 340i x drive with a similar spec look at the one I put on, it seems quite similar with M Performance and Track Handling.
