Need a new lease in 2 months. Should I jump on a current deal now or wait it out?

I have a Hyundai Kona EV lease that ends in early September. I’m eyeing the Chevy Equinox deals right now. In particular, the PND for $305/month. I also qualify for the Costco Executive, Existing Lease, and GM Educator discounts, so I can get the $3000 Capitalized Cost Incentive up to $6000, which brings my effective monthly payment down to $187. EDIT: Effective monthly is $250

I paid around $300/mo for my Kona, so this is a better price for a better car. I’d be decently happy with it.

Question is, do people think there will be better deals between now and when the tax credit expires at the end of September?

Nobody knows, anyone who says otherwise is lying. Do you want to FAAFO?

Get the actual numbers to exit the Kona early and see what that adds to a replacement lease then decide how early you want to pull it in.

If you can get an Equinox now for effectively under $200 a month, how much better do you think deals might get by September?

The right question is do you really want an Equinox, or do you just want the cheapest possible vehicle?

Personally, I would happily pay more to drive a vehicle I really enjoy rather than try to save a few dollars on something I don’t really enjoy driving.

Are you OK with eating a couple of payments on the Kona to exit that lease early? If so, and you like the Equinox, then go for it now. You will have fewer choices in September as people rush to capture the credit on EVs before it expires. Just don’t be too sad if Chevy lowers the price of all their EVs on October 1.

Get the equinox, enjoy it for the next 3 years

Have people been able to leasehack the equinox on a 36 month lease? I’ve only seen 24.

It’s typically due to the rv dropping enough to no longer make it a hack. Run the dealer discount, incentives, and mf, with the rv for 36 months and see if it still looks appealing to you.

I would go for it and lease the equinox EV now.
Technically you can return your Kona early August to avoid additional cost of insurance premium.

Sign if this deal is ready. Keep two cars for two months if your insurance cost is not crazy.

Looked at the wrong box on the leasehackr calculator, total monthly payment is 187, effective is 250/mo.

Is that a Hyundai thing where you can return your lease a month early w/o any charges? I can’t seem to find that anywhere.

Actually, I think I found something related to this in my lease contract:

22a. This lease will be considered terminated or ended early (also called “Early Termination”) if it is terminated more than one month before the Scheduled Maturity Date.

Does this mean that I can return the vehicle up to a month before the lease end date and have it count as a “normal” return?

Get this from me instead $225 effective higher msrp with pano roof and dual charge cord included :flexed_biceps: put the entire thing on the GM card and 0% credit card fee for the 1-pay & 9 month 0 interest

If lease expires early September you can return your lease in less than 30 days from that day as a regular lease return

As others mentioned, there’s really no point in waiting for something even cheaper to show up.

You can return your lease ‘early’ (right after paying the last monthly) to save on insurance, but that’s it.

The Equinox may be a better deal but overall it’s a terrible car. I’d just stick w/ the Kona

Hi, is this available in NY? I’m interested

no unforuantely

Hi,
I am looking for Blazer EV & kind if similar deal for postal code - 53142, WI. Let me know, if you have anything for lease dea.

I’m not taking a chance on deals getting better with tax rebates likely going away.
Just sign and be happy. That’s my opinion
