My daily commute just went from 0 to 3-4 hours - what’s the current status of autonomous cars?

It doesn’t.

iX, i5, i7 have it as far as the electrics are concerned.

i4 is still DA Pro with TJA up to 40.

Gotcha, thanks!

Mercedes supposedly delivered a EQS with SAE Level 3 in California and issued a press release about it, but the option isn’t even in the 2024 order guide. Seems like just hype at the moment.

Anyone know how normal acc is with the i4? And also the lane centering tech?

Like how often it’s an option? I don’t follow

I assume if a 30mi commute is taking 1 hour on a good day and 2 on a bad one, OP isn’t going to be seeing 85mph very often on that drive anyways.

No one mentioned Cadillac super cruise? It’s awesome and works 100% hands free on highway. Also does auto lane changes.

Realized I typed that out weirdly.

What I meant was does anyone know how well it works. Like some manufacturers the acc and lane centering on non hands free models work really well and can basically be used almost the same way as hands free.

DA pro works pretty great. :slightly_smiling_face:

Fair point, but there are sections when it clears and I can get up to 70 for a few miles, then back down to a crawl.

I think you’ll be happy either way. Do you live in a city where you can rent a BMW i4/i5/iX from Turo and try out the Driver’s Assistant Professional? It’s probably worth spending $100 to drive the car around for a day to see if it works for you. That’s what I did and I fell in love the DA Pro and ending up buying an BMW iX.

I am going to assume there are no trains you can take? I used to commute about 1 hour each way by train and it wasn’t too bad. I made good use of my time which would allow me to leave work early and take care of personal business.
