After much research, test drives, & mock negotiations, the wife has finally settled on the 2025 Kia Sorento PHEV SX. I want to be around the $450-$650 range, but it seems I can only get there by asking for 8%-12.5% off MSRP (depending on which dealer has the specific colour). How realistic is this? Have searched around and haven’t seen many of these signed, as well as many brokers listing them.
Welcome.
Are you listing your effectively monthly, or are you will to pay $2-3K DAS?
I’m assuming @Jeff_BeachCitiesAuto could tell you if your budget is realistic.
Well, given there is a pre-negotiated deal for a 2024 Kia Sorrento EX Hybrid listed at $459 with a 6% discount off MSRP, I don’t think you are going to get 12% off on a 2025. Are you also factoring in the tax credit to your overall discount?
Why not go with the 2024 at $459?
2024 EX is the old body style and a less desired trim level, not a good comparison
@RNOHackr that type of discount you’re targeting is VERY far from achievable, these aren’t giveaway vehicles. I can give you a under market quote if you’d like
@paranoidgarliclover Willing to pay $2-$3K DAS.
@Wtmeyer We were shown the EX trim. The wife is not fond of it…
@Jeff_BeachCitiesAuto Thank you for letting me know.
To not sound so hard headed the 12% discount is for a specific stock# that a dealer has marked up 5% over sticker. The rest of the cars go for around $53-$56K in the area, more realistically would be asking 8%-10% discount before incentives. Unfortunately now the wife has set her eye on the Hyundai Palisade in the short time it took me to type all this out… Guess it’s back to research.
You know @Jeff_BeachCitiesAuto has those.
Dealer is asking for over MSRP and you are trying to be at a huge discount under MSRP? it doesn’t make sense…
Lets stick with Palisade in terms of deal quality, I have very low leasing on them
The 2025 is not a hackable car at the moment for a traditional lease.
You can lease it with the intention to buy it within 30 days and finance for 60-72 months, depending on the lease cash that KMF, Ally and USB are offering.
@Jeff_BeachCitiesAuto Thank you. I see dealers in the region have many Palisades collecting dust at the moment. Unfortunately the wife has changed her mind again after finding out the Palisade doesn’t come in hybrid…
@max_g I’ll keep this in mind if we come back to the Sorento.
I guess close this thread as we have returned to square one of the search for a Hybrid/PHEV with a comfortable 3rd row (that she likes)… Thank you all for the help.
Hybrid/PHEV 3 row suvs is a very short list of vehicles, most likely you will end up back at Sorrento. I can get towards the upper range of your monthly budget on it
