MSD + One Time Pay

Just curious if doings MSDs + one time payment makes sense?

No you can choose one.

You are not allowed to do both or it just doesn’t make sense to do so?

Can’t do both. Gotta choose one or the other. On a one pay, they already have all your money, so holding a deposit to make sure you pay what you’ve already paid doesn’t make sense.

If you’re capable of making money else where why give the MSDs + one time payment to them for free?

Also, if you are in the middle of the lease and get involved in an accident where your car has to be totaled I believe the MSD’s will be returned but not the cap cost/ one time payment and you might take a hit if there is negative equity involved.

This is incorrect in the case of a one pay.

My bad. I think GAP will probably help him out.

One Pay is not the same as a down payment or cap reduction.

One pay is more like paying all your lease payments at once & because the captive gets the money upfront they don’t have risk of non payment.

They hold the payment as advance payment of monthly payments.

Not a factor in this context.

It depends on contract language, but general rule of thumb is pro rated refund for one pay.
