Currently in South Florida and will be moving to Phoenix in May/June timeframe. Have an Audi Q5 lease that originally expired in Dec 2022, but extended it for 6 months. Will moist probably go with lease/buy either a Q5 or buy a Telluride (I know they are different type of cars, but that’s what wife liked). I do have to put used tires if I wait until June.
Question for gurus:Should I get a buy/lease a car in SFL and ship it or do that in Phoenix? I get reimbursed any shipping costs. But was thinking should I put a new car through shipping and reregistering in AZ. The sales tax may be a little less in AZ, not sure if that is material to the monthly payment. The tire replacement if I think will cost me $400/$500.
LOL, it is freaking HOT dry or not. The occasional 100 happens in October just as it does in April…ugh…I lived there for 20 years and half the year there nowadays is over 100…with 50 days a couple years ago of 110+…hot dirt asphalt cement everywhere, not the same as when I first moved there when things actually cooled at night some of year. Won’t even mention water situation and restrictions happening…
And a lot of ‘winter’ isn’t that nice…I dreaded this time of year knowing 80s-90s were gonna start already in late Feb/March with 100s not far behind.
Truth be said I’m a beach/water/green guy and not hot brown desert. N AZ is wonderful tho and we had a home there our last 7-8 years, I would live there again.
There’s no tax advantage to buying/leasing a car in one state and immediately shipping it to a different state. Arizona is gonna want their piece regardless.
Not that familiar with the local markets, but I see a lot of truly horrible leases coming out of Florida so not sure you’re going to find better pricing there.
Even if someone else is paying shipping a car can be a hassle. What if it’s late, damaged, etc.
Impacted by the wise people who thinks getting people back to physical space makes all of us to be more collaborative…creative and all the other stuff. No choice…
You’re getting way ahead of yourself. Talk to a volume western region dealer like Arapaho Kia or the renamed former I25 Kia about timelines on the Telluride trim you’re looking at
Yes. You would pay to register the car in FL and later in AZ when you decide to register here. Not sure if FL dmv refunds a prorated amount if you are only registered for part of the year.
